Bedtime stories for a 7 year old DS

DS is a good reader and loves books but still likes a bedtime story read to him before going to sleep. He does enjoy looking at pictures whilst we are reading.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what books to get him for Christmas for this purpose?

The Anthony Horowitz books are good for that age.

Toto The Ninja cat stories are fun and have good illustrations.

We read A Boy Called Christmas last year to my so who at the time was 7, and he got a chapter each night before bed. He loved that

His friends also like the beast quest series. Didn't do it for DS but it seems to be popular in the age group.
