Books for 16 year old girl and 13 year old boy

Would be so grateful for some titles for young adults that are gripping and reasonably well written. Thanks

What genres are they into?

That depends a lot on their taste.

DD is 16 and reads everything from YA thriller, YA LGBTQ, YA fantasy, historical novels, cosy mysteries to historical factual books.

I know girls who won't touch anything which is not fantasy and some who hate fantasy.
Others are still only reading teen fiction while others moved entirely to "normal" fiction.

I always used to recommend the Gromenghast Trilogy!
