Food between Christmas and the New Year

What do you eat in that weird little time after Christmas and before January? I usually do a leftovers buffet with some cheese, bread and fruit on Boxing Day, but not sure what to do from the 27th onwards. I like to be quite lazy in those few days, so can't really be bothered with proper cooking. Do you have any family traditions for that week?

After our Christmas day roast, when everybody's finished eating, I assemble a "Boxing Day Pie". As part of meal prep, I lay shortcrust pastry into a deep pie dish. Then all the roast dinner leftovers ho into it 😋 A layer of potatoes, a layer of turkey, a layer of sprouts etc etc. Even pigs in blankets. Then top up with gravy (if we have leftovers, if not a quick Bisto!), top with pastry and stick it in the fridge. It makes a nice easy dinner on Boxing Day,or a couple of days later if we're all still picking at cheeseboards.

We often do a fondue or raclette after Christmas... it feels a bit 'special' but isn't too much effort and uses up loads of cheese ....

Boxing Day is always cheese.

After that, I generally fancy vegetable and spice - so, maybe a curry or fajitas etc.

Or a big pan of vegetable soup with fresh bread and (more) cheese.

I always make sure I buy one of the Old El Paso kits like Enchiladas or tacos something that I can use the left over turkey in.
Also risotto is a good way of using up left over cheese/veg/turkey/salmon
