Christmas Ideas for DD

Hi,

I’m feeling at a bit of a loss with DD this year. I’ve got lots of ideas for DS, who’s 6, but feeling uninspired for a main present for DD who is 4. And there doesn’t seem to be anything major she wants either.

What are you all getting your four year old girls? (She loves the outdoors but she has a bike, scooter, trampoline etc and she's not really into dolls)

Thanks

I can think of lots of smaller presents - fun wellies, wildlife books - for an outdoorsy DC, but main presents are harder.

There are things like den-making kits - would that work? Or a sturdy pair of binoculars, or a small tent for the garden (not so great at this time of year), or a really good wind-up torch? Or maybe you could put together a selection of things (head torch, fun wellies, flask, lunch box) in a backpack (which will have multiple uses and if you pick the right size could last her three or four years)

We’re doing a few smaller presents for DD4 - there’s nothing ‘big ticket’ that she wants and it seems crazy to get anything for the sake of it.

So she’ll be getting Lego, jigsaws, a jellycat and twister (which is mainly for me….).

Some ideas:

  • giant cuddly toy

  • desk or IKEA trolley filled with arts and crafts stuff (paper, crayons, paints, stickers - basically go wild at The Works)
  • light up tracing pad
  • Sylvanian families - popular with my DD at that age despite being uninterested in dolls
