What to get for a 10yo boy who loves football / rugby and youtube

Help! I'm at a complete loss as to what to get my son for christmas. It's his birthday a couple of days before christmas as well so it's a double whammy. DH and I will buy a bike as his main christmas present, and he will get the EAFC and some gaming headphones from family for his birthday.

He loves Liverpool football club (SIL getting him a Liverpool scarf) and I was thinking about a Liverpool top.

Any other ideas? He doesn't play with toys usually; he is either out playing football / rugby or playing on his PS4 / making youtube videos.

TappingTed · 24/11/2023 13:32

A goal for the garden? Boot buddy to boot driers (electric, from amazon)
Marcus Rashford book
under armour
new shin guards

A donation to a charity, sponsor a child. Donate a present on his behalf to a child who dosent have a gift and explain what your doing.

If you dont know what to buy your child he has everything he already needs dosent he?

Liverpool stadium tour? I've been it's a great day out.

My son is 10 and exactly the same re football. I got him a six ft goal for the garden for his bday in the summer. This year I’ve got him Man U tracksuit (from JD sports, the replica they use for training aparently?!) a football the England team uses, the new FIFA 24 that’s called something else. the new Spider Man 2 game (if your son watches YouTube’s I will assume he’s heard of it, it’s all the rage with the game review YouTubers)
a pair of goal keeper gloves I got off cheap TIKTOK shop
tbh my son spends a lot of time on TIKTOK so I went onto their shop on the app and got some basic really cheap stocking fillers that were in his ‘recommended’ tab. (I have full access to his TIKTOK account from my phone to make sure he’s not watching anything I dont want him too or getting weird messages). Have you thought about an Air Up bottle? They are quite popular and there is a few dupes on there. (For the mumsnetters that will inevitably clutch at their pearls about either TIKTOK or buying dupes please save your breath 😂)

The LFC shop has tonnes of stuff
my son loves his dressing gown

I'm getting my football/youtube/xbox mad 10 year old -
New gaming chair
Air Jordans
Scooter
These football socks that give better grip, can't think of the company name get in the game or something like that?
Football rebounder net
Can't think of anything else

Probably off topic but a bit unusual. We have got these for our nephew

Thank you everyone! They are great ideas. My DH is looking into getting liverpool tickets and the stadium tour is a great shout. I'll also check out the Liverpool shop.

@girlfriend44 he has donated a gift for a child less fortunate already and does sponsorships to help others - he is a very kind, caring boy. He doesn't have a great deal of things; he likes his football / rugby and needs a bike - even on his christmas list he has only asked for a bike and a rugby tee because he wants Santa to give toys to those poor children involved in the war in Israel / Palestine.

My son is the same and has a birthday in January so I sympathise. Here’s some ideas:

Football/ rugby ball (you can get the official France World Cup ball still) apparently you can never have too many
Some of the Classic Football Heroes books
FOCO have lots of team branded stuff
kit/shirt/training top
boot buddy
decent gum shield for rugby
scrum cap
new boot bag / kit bag
dry robe for before/after games (especially handy for rugby)
boot fresheners (my son’s always stink 😷)
ring light if he likes making videos

MerryMarigold · 28/11/2023 13:51

Tickets to a game? Great experience and less 'stuff'. Can combine with a gift for Grandad/ Dad/ Nanny/ grown up step sibling if you get an extra ticket (you would need to get 2 anyway!)

NameChange1019 · 28/11/2023 13:53

We did the stadium tour last year. We also managed to tie it in with a pre season friendly so tickets were more readily available and cheaper! Would defo reecommend.

If he plays football and you have space my 9 year old loves his rebound goal.

Stocking fillers, shine pads in our house seem to disappear at a similar rate to tupperware lids! See similar for football socks! Liverpool annual.

slipperypenguin · 28/11/2023 14:26

Forza website has loads of good training items for football - cones, targets for nets, mannequin defenders

Poppsidoppsi · 28/11/2023 14:34

Loving these ideas! My DS is the 23rd december and trying to find Christmas and birthdays gifts can be a nightmare!

MikeWozniaksMohawk · 28/11/2023 18:11

Adding to my list above -
iconic puzzles (club themed wooden jigsaws with pieces cut out in the shape of players)
Match of the Day annual / subscription to the magazine
liverpool annual
Laceeze to keep his shoe laces in place
grip socks

WarningOfGails · 02/12/2023 21:43

Any tips on rebound nets? Just looking for one for my football/rugby keen bean and there’s quite a range! Quite a few have mentioned them here…
