I'm stuck on what to get my lovely sister this year. She's late 50s - into make up, clothes, house stuff, books etc.

Need some inspiration. Budget up to £50

I’ve bought a wooden crate and am going to full it with wrapped books, some fancy foods (she loves cooking) and some beauty bits. So basically a random assortment hamper 😂

HouseChainDrama · 23/11/2023 22:29

Donation to charity, so much better than more stuff

KohlaParasaurus · 23/11/2023 22:32

I'll be getting my sisters consumable gifts - chocolate, alcohol, expensive coffee, cheese.

Floribundaflummery · 23/11/2023 22:37

We are doing a charity shop challenge: buy a whole outfit including accessories for each other. We know each other’s taste really well. Hopefully will surprise her in a good way.

One sister is getting an oodie, the other a nail salon voucher.

Borris · 23/11/2023 22:51

A bauble and she's doing the same for me

FlutteryButterfly · 23/11/2023 22:52

Beautiful jammies from the stripes company.

idontlikealdi · 23/11/2023 22:53

We're not. Family secret Santa for the adults.
Much less hassle.

RedRobin100 · 23/11/2023 22:55

A productivity planner, Elemis balm, pjs, a coffee keep cup and a steering wheel fluffy cover. Two sisters

itsgoingtobeabumpyride · 23/11/2023 22:58

Dsis 1 - Clinique moisturiser, twigs with lights on and lounge wear.
Dsis 2 - Fancy candle holder, candles, gel nail stuff and PJs.
Probably spend about £6O+ on each dsis

How about suggesting a reciprocal arrangement, where instead of buying each other something, you each buy yourselves something, send a picture and thanks in the usual way, congratulating them on getting you exactly what you would have chosen yourself.

Fit me, this is next level genius

DwightDFlysenhower · 23/11/2023 23:15

A bird feeder made from coffee husks, and some Nesti Dante soaps.

I might get her an apron she mentioned she liked and see if I can get a matching oven glove. It seems a funny present, but I don't think she'd buy herself a new one!

I bought Champney's sheet face masks the other year, which she liked but she found them too embarrassing to do with her DH there. Grin He went away for work and I went around and we did one together which was nice.

We have not exchanged gifts for more years than I care to remember

Not really in the spirit of Christmas though is it?

I think pp's suggestion if a hamper with books, fancy food etc sounds great

itsatravestyy · 23/11/2023 23:20

Rare beauty blush

MonsteraMama · 23/11/2023 23:23

I've bought "experiences" for all my siblings this year.

My younger sister is having a spa day, my elder sister is having a quad biking adventure. They are very different people.

SoRuff63 · 23/11/2023 23:25

A neom well-being pod diffuser

Fuckitydoodah · 24/11/2023 06:17

There's some great ideas here, thanks.

We've done the family secret santa before when we've all got together on Xmas day. It works well as we're a big family and would bankrupt us to buy each person something.

My sister sent me a link to what she wanted. So I ordered that. She wanted a natural dye kit or something. Job done!
