Stocking Fillers for Mum and Dad

In my family we buy stoking fillers for each other since my sister and I found out about santa. Every year I struggle to find the perfect thing for my mum and dad. They're not the flowery, silly mum and strong manly dad type and amazon/etsy only show very stereotypical gifts I know they'd hate. My dad likes music, geography, gardening and cooking. My mum likes cats, sewing and cooking, but doesn't particulaly like nicknacks or statues because she has no use for them. Any ideas for gifts? (Preferably on a reasonable budget!)

For a relative into geography I’ve bought one of those alternative maps (like map of pubs, funny place names, flag games and map coasters.
I enjoy sewing and like labels, chalks (or the pens from another thread where the ink vanishes once pressed).
The spicery legend kits are really nice for cooks or some posh salt (Himalayan or Maldon?) or oil that they may not normally buy?

They've got very specific and easy hobbies to buy for, so buy for the hobbies. You dad: CDs, geography books, gardening tools and equipment eg gloves, twine, posh cooks ingredients (go to the whole foods/world foods aisle in the supermarket). Your mum: ditto on the cooking stuff but add tea towels, kitchen knives or gadgets, sewing kit, sewing books from the charity shop, something cute for the cat.

This might be a stupid question, but do they actually need to fit inside a stocking, or do you just mean a few, lesser £ items???

If they both like food, what about some quirky items in a mini hamper to share.

it's an important question! in our family, stocking fillers are low cost and must fit in a stocking. Some people just mean lower cost but not in stocking, others mean anything that will fit on a stocking but could be ££££££. The things you learn on MN!
