@KG1145 Argos have the Lego express train on offer for around £94

Irritatedmum · 24/11/2023 19:02

Can I ask Yoto owners…. I’ve bought one for my 7 year old and I’m wondering now if my 9 year old would love it too, as I’ve figured I can put books from BorrowBox onto the make your own cards. Would it be ok for a 9 year old or is she too old?

Bumblebeesince19 · 24/11/2023 19:04

Have you searched "gaming battlemat" on Google? I immediately went to warhammer style terrains as I'm sure that would be ideal, not sure it would be a soft rug type thing though x

ZeroFucksGivenToday · 24/11/2023 19:13

@Irritatedmum my DD has those pens from Amazon. They're brilliant, have lasted ages and not ran out/dried up yet.

huge thanks for the very heads up - I'd ordered DDs iPhone 12 from CEX this am at £445. Saw all the very stuff and got an account (and 20% off) and now got a brand new one on the way for only £400 (I've cancelled the CEX order). Also ordered myself some new GHDs as mine broke. So I'm buzzing.

Can anyone recommend a light projector for a ceiling for a tween. She really wants one and I vaguely recall one back in about thread 7. She wants stars etc. but doesn't want a babyish one.

GlobetrottingPercy · 24/11/2023 19:21

It’s been one of those days and I’m only just sitting down to look at BF deals now and read through this thread. I’ve got a 30% code for Wonderbly if anyone can make use of it? I’m not sure if it’s account specific (there’s no mention of that anywhere) and so happy to PM it if someone is ordering from there. Only valid until midnight apparently.

Magik01 · 24/11/2023 19:36

a family member has asked for a microwave for Christmas, does anyone have any recommendations? Budget of £100 ideally, no more than £150. 800w or more and if it has fancy settings that’s a bonus! We have had ours for yours so I don’t know where to start.

TheGirlWhoLived · 24/11/2023 19:45

does anybody know of any felt Christmas trees (the sort that you stick to a wall and the kids can decorate) that are good? The hobby craft one is £7 but looks tiny- I was after something around 4ft but Amazon has a plethora of options

fishfingersandchipsagain · 24/11/2023 19:48

Thank you so much @lifelongfrugaleer @TheGriffle and everyone else who helped me navigate VERY

Either they have the worst site I ever used, or I am exceedingly thick.

In case it helps anyone else, as has now been pointed out upthread with screenshots, the box for the code is right at the bottom of the PAYMENT section, which would make sense if it weren’t colour coded to match the “pay in full” section, and below the point where you terminate the checkout process if paying by credit.

Once the code has been entered, the prices of the items go down and you can then SCROLL BACK UP to do BNPL.

DON’T DO WHAT I DID (clicking “add to account” on the BNPL section). If you do that, you never get to the code. You have to SCROLL DOWN FIRST.

Annoyingly for me they will not allow me to cancel my first order which was placed without the code. I have to wait for it to arrive next Friday, refund it, and then reorder, which means I will lose the Black Friday Quidco, and possibly lose the Black Friday discounts too.

Honestly they have been a bloody nightmare from start to finish.

I am VERY glad (haha - see what I did there?!) that it has helped some other people though 😊

Magik01 · 24/11/2023 19:49

@Needtostartover yes a little bit over I’m afraid but it does look fancy!

For new VERY credit account customers 20% off with code WELCOME and if you go through Quidco you get about 7% cashback too. See my post about for the complexity of getting it to work.

I did the same and they said I had to wait for it to be ordered. However, the next day I had an email saying order was successfully cancelled. It went to junk so keep an eye out for it

slipperypenguin · 24/11/2023 19:51

Did I miss a deal on an ear scope camera thingy?

ZeroFucksGivenToday · 24/11/2023 19:52

@slipperypenguin go onto Quidco, click the Very £20 offer, and then click through on the cashback link.

once on very, if you can take a credit account out, you get 20% off your first order put on your account, using the code welcome.

For me. iPhone 12 128gb was £650. Reduced to £499 in the BF sales. I opened an account and added the welcome code. Got the phone for £399.

I'll pay the balance in full when I get the statement. There's lots of offers on Very right now on phones.

MammaGnomes · 24/11/2023 18:31

Would also like to know too please

@HiccupHorrendousHaddock and @MammaGnomes it was through Quidco on an opt in. £10 off a £25 spend. I suspect they have all gone now but worth checking.

This looks like a good game and a great price. Only 1 purchase per person I tried to order one for my nephew and one for my daughter

Oh, thank you so much @LittleMousewithcloggson . That’s really good to know. I’ll keep a look out and my fingers crossed.

(Also good to know I wasn’t the only one 😅, but glad it got sorted for you).

Am also buying for newborn babies!
Any discount code for the Tuppence and Crumble star blankets?
I’ve actually not bought these before, are they recommended by you lovely lot??

My T&C star blanket was my favourite thing that I bought DD2 when she was a newborn. So snuggly and cute. Plus great in a buggy or car seat or sling so very versatile!!

I would say your 9 year old would love it too if she enjoys books. My 7 year old listens to his every bedtime and I can’t see him getting bored of it for a long time.
And yes borrowbox is great!
