Thread 12 - the one where we're hoping for mega Hotel Chocolat bargains
OneHornedFlyingPurplePeopleEater · 22/11/2023 11:39

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl

I'm also on the lookout for wax melts (to go with my boots burners) My sister uses waxidentally awesome on fb - I'm holding out for her black Friday deals.

I haven't tried them myself, but looks to be plenty of Christmas scents.
Waxidentally awsome

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl I really like Ashleigh & Burwood's winter range (though I buy them from a small gift shop where I don't get discounts etc). My favourite of theirs is Winter Forest, though I'm currently using Frosted Holly.

Yoto player and cards £10!

Not sure if it will be honoured, but worth a try!

Thank you, fingers crossed it's honoured!

psuedocream3 · 22/11/2023 11:51

Any good recommendations for a watch for an 11 year old girl, no characters but not too grown up?

Honestmummydearest · 22/11/2023 11:53

@Broccoli5 @PeskyPotato i was too late sadly, but curious if they do honour it. Let us know!

Carrie76 · 22/11/2023 11:58

@psuedocream3 swatch are good for that age, lots of choice

EdenGlen · 22/11/2023 12:00

Any recommendations for a Star Wars cuddly toy? The main requirement is that it has to be really soft!

Yeknom · 22/11/2023 12:03

@EdenGlen you can get star wars squishmallows??

Broccoli5 · 22/11/2023 12:07

Yoto glitch is fixed! Fingers crossed for everyone who ordered!

Raindancer411 · 22/11/2023 12:08

I missed the yoto too

Beckafett · 22/11/2023 12:10

Hi all, I've missed most of the last 2 threads so apologies for probably a duplicate question.
I've ran out of ideas for my eldest who is 12 and was thinking of getting her a subscription or 2. At the moment my list is only-
Snackverse.
Any other ideas or does anyone use SnackVerse?

Qwerty21 · 22/11/2023 12:22

So frustrated I missed the yoto glitch 😭

Hope someone on here can advise please!
DD6 has become fascinated with these Mini Brands balls? But there seem to be so many different themed ones. Food, Disney, toy ones.

If your DC have them, do they get played with? Or are they just for display? Thinking they could be used with the dolls house.

And are any themes better value than others?

Thank you for any help.

Not sure I saw an answer so to jump in- my youngest loves them and a cheaper way was to buy the calendars I found. She uses them in barbie games

Passthecoffee · 22/11/2023 12:27

The code HOHOHO gives 15% off a £30 Hotel Chocolat Spend. I don't think it's account specific as the leaflet says it applies automatically in store as well.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 22/11/2023 12:28

@SunflowerBaby I'm the same with the air up. Both my younger DS have asked but it's so expensive just for a bottle and pods. Mixed reviews as well some of my friends love it, some think it's an utter waste of money. My basket has been sat there 3 days Grin

I didn’t even check on their own site! 😂
thank you x

I'm still dithering about AirUp. They are so expensive for a bloody water bottle but dd has wanted one for months and has barely put anything else on her Christmas list. Even with the discount I'm looking at 40 quid for the bottle, cleaning brush and some pods Envy

It's hard isn't it when they ask for something but they're such a gimmick. One of those things you just write off as a complete waste of money, for me anyway.

My 2 boys love theirs and definitely drink so much more water now

Carrie76 · 22/11/2023 10:56

@slipperypenguin my ds has that watch we find it great

Thank you! Does the location piece work well? We had bought a cheaper one before and it was useless so willing to spend a bit more ££ for accuracy!

FudgeSodaPops · 22/11/2023 12:55

I know this won’t help those on the fence about the air up bottles as most people seem against them on here but my DS7 and DS10 use the bottles everyday for school with no issues. No leaking and no smelling/mould like some other people have mentioned. I’m also surprised by how many people don’t read the leaflet and don’t realise that the pod needs to be in the “up” position in order to “taste” the flavour. A lot of people I’ve spoken to have just assumed you push the pod in and off you go.

Some pods definitely “taste” better than others and I am surprised when I say it tastes nice when I then remember it is actually just water. My boys don’t like any of the “original” variety pack which they seem to push as a good starter set to purchase with the bottles. They like pineapple, iced coffee, iced peach tea and coconut ☺️

They are expensive but you don’t need the cleaning brush- a pipe cleaner works fine. The pods do seem to last well, I don’t change them very often, def not as often as suggested. Some smells are stronger than others imo- The bottles themselves have lasted well- 3 of my 4 kids have them and they still look new and they’ve had them nearly 2 years.

DiscoChristmas · 22/11/2023 12:57

@Favouritefruits and @Beckafett Thank you both for the advice. Will have a look into the calendars and a shop to go with a few of the balls.

Summerdew · 22/11/2023 12:59

Agree DDs both love their air ups, I can’t taste them but they both insist that they can and they both fill up water bottles more often than before. We got the metal ones on the prequel thread and they are very sturdy with no leaks. One of the better gimmicks I’ve indulged!
