What small things do YOU want?

This year I am writing a list - for a few reasons, DH is not great at present picking. He's not bad either but it can just be a bit random. Money is a bit tighter this year and there a few bits and pieces that I've wanted but not bought for myself so it's seems sensible to make a list this year. However I still want an element of surprise so want to give him a list that he can choose from, and maybe not always be specific (ie a scented candle - he can pick the scent).

I'm struggling for inspiration - what 'small' things would you like to find under the tree this year?

I want some loop or flare earplugs

Rainbow1901 · 20/11/2023 08:52

If you are regular user of moisturisers - then ask for that. It's practical and in a way money saving to buy something that will be used through the year and many of them come in lovely gift sets.
Clothing? do you need new trainers or work shoes or just a glitzy pair for a night out?
Any hobbies? Gym goer? Cross stitch?
When you make your list - add a link or be specific about what you want - nothing worse than getting something you're not keen on.

I only ever want boring things like socks, but a voucher for a massage (NOT a spa day), or a bottle of nice whiskey are always welcome.

We’ve always made lists for birthdays and Xmas. It means you aren’t wasting money on gifts that aren’t wanted, and you don’t get unwanted presents.

L’occitaine lavender bath soak
Neom pillow spray
Warm socks
Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a bottle of Baileys Grin

I like one brand that makes clothes, homeware, Bags etc. this year one online shop has loads of their products. I said Dh to let dc to choose presents for from that site. I like all the products so doesn't matter what they choose.

A soft, supple writing pad with fountain-pen friendly crisp pages.

(And regular free time to WRITE...harder to wrap, though).

MammaWeasel · 20/11/2023 14:24

I would like consumables....nice chocolates, novelty socks, scented and pretty candles.....I'm easy to please!

LubaLuca · 20/11/2023 14:31

A book.
Hand cream.
Favourite chocolates.
Mittens with a flap over, not sure of the technical term.
Cosy socks.

Alloveragain3 · 20/11/2023 14:32

Chocolate liquors
Good coffee
Britney's autobiography (trash, I know!)
Festive earrings to wear on the day

What do you mean by "small" ?

BasiliskStare · 20/11/2023 14:40

A tub of meal worms - I love my new bird feeder.

This may not appeal to all I realise.

dotty2 · 20/11/2023 14:43

Ha! @BasiliskStare . My DH once bought me a bird feeder and wrapped the bits that came with it separately. The mealworms were the first bit I opened. As I moved the pot out of the wrapper they seemed to be wriggling. My reaction was not what he hoped.

DustyLee123 · 20/11/2023 14:50

The Xmas cherry hand cream from Body Shop smells delicious.
And I’d like to try the L’Occitane almond shower gel.
I like certain products from LizEarle, so I’d happily supply a list of those.
And I’d like some chocolate liqueurs, I wonder if they still do the ones shaped like a bottle 🤔

ExpressYourElf · 20/11/2023 14:55

A costa voucher
Quality Street Strawberry chocolates
Warm socks
A candle from my favourite shop

BasiliskStare · 20/11/2023 15:20

@dotty2 - My meal worms are dried - no wriggling - that would have been an entirely different experience - and not so welcome. ( I do appreciate yours would not have been actually wriggling either ) 😁

I bought my DS gf a little wash bag with her initial on, and some handmade vanilla soap to go in her stocking. The soap arrived this morning and it smells so gorgeous I want some for myself.

Ooh must try that cherry hand cream, sounds great. And I'm with you on the shower gel, I hear good things about it.

Haha we used to have the live ones for our gecko. Hated them!

I'd like a nice bookmark and a fancy reusable shopping bag
