Mmm, it varies slightly every year, but there's only me to buy for this year so here's what I'm thinking:

Advocaat
Cava
Red wine (for homemade mulled wine)
Fancy chocolates (charbonnel & walker)
Pigs in blankets
Ham in cola
Mash
Brussel sprouts (might try a Nigel Slater chestnut recipe or similar)
Trifle (homemade)
Got the apricot brandy liqueurs maturing in a dark cupboard
Smoked salmon
Wensleydale and cranberry

Hmmm, am such a glutton now I've listed all this 😂

We cheat and do an M&S Christmas dinner which is already ordered and we go out for tea on Christmas Eve. But I want a really nice Panetone this year, maybe with chocolate chips if anyone can recommend one?
I like to do dessert on Christmas day and everyone likes something slightly different so I'm going to do a Fererro Rocher cheesecake and Panecotta with raspberry coulis 😋
I want a side of salmon for boxing day, a lighter meal after all the heavy food on Christmas day.

DarkRainyNovember · 19/11/2023 14:48

Baileys
Lebkuchen
Gammon
Special box of chocs
Some salmon
Asparagus
Make sausage rolls

headcheffer · 19/11/2023 15:41

6 of us (but 2 are very little!), and this is for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day - we have our ham on Christmas Eve with baked potatoes and coleslaw, then pastries for breakfast and then Christmas dinner:

Carrots
Parsnips
Potatoes
Sausages
Bacon
Milk
Bread
Eggs
Orange juice
Champagne
Red and white wine
Beers
Fruit shoots
Lemonade
Chocolate dessert

Then off to family for a couple of days on Boxing Day. We come back and the following is on the menu for the remainder (CBA to list out the ingredients):

Normal breakfasts or bacon/sausage sarnies at a push
Butter chicken, dal, naan, rice and broccoli
Part baked rolls and homemade soup (we have this nearly every day over Christmas, with leftover ham/cheese etc, it's a great way to get veg in)
Lasagne and salad
Cheeseboard and crackers (in place of dinner one night)
Party food buffet for NYE
Roast dinner for NYD

DarkRainyNovember · 19/11/2023 16:10
