Xmas drinks at a friends house outfit ideas please!

I have 3 DCs under 5 so don’t get out much and have spent a lot of the last 5 years pregnant or bf. Have been invited to Xmas drinks at one of the mums from my DDs school’s house. Don’t know many of the other mums all that well yet but the hosts house is gorgeous and I think most people will make quite an effort! Basically none of them have ever seen me in anything other than jeans and a jumper as I’m on Mat leave. I want to make an effort but I have no idea what to wear! I’m late 30s, 5ft 8 and a size 8-10. Have changed shape quite a lot in the last 5 years and don’t want anything tight on my stomach, any ideas please?

As it’s at someone’s house, I wouldn’t go too OTT.
I think I would go for a jumper dress in a jewel colour - dark green, burgundy or deep purple. And then jazz it up with my jewellery.
Or if that’s too casual, I’d probably go for a sequin skirt mini skirt with a cropped jumper.
Both options with thick black tights and boots.
