Christmas door wreath arch thing

I have decided I need a Christmas arch in my life this year. Have seen a few in B&Q etc, any recommendations?? I’m thinking a ready done green one I can add stuff and lights too that I already have is easier than just a garden arch frame

I just use a fir garland type that I hook up each year. I think the feet on those arches look ridiculous tbh, but I’m open to having my mind changed if anyone links something spectacular looking.
Are you having for indoor or outdoor?
How will you disguise the bottom?

Outdoor. Will wrap giant ribbon around the bottom. Don’t have anyway to attach to the wall to make it hanging/free standing.

Bump before I go crazy and order something to then have to wedge in the shed for the rest of the year

Yeah the feet are a bit crap aren’t they?

I think I might be inclined to get a garland instead. If you put hooks up then they could stay all year and you just cable tie it on.

Yup the feet are crap, but due to a weird shape/overhang can’t put in hooks only a free standing thing and was wonder about buying a garden arch and building it myself

The problem with garden arches is that they are designed to stab into the earth, aren’t they? Do you have soil you can use?

PumpkinFence · 17/11/2023 15:29

Good point, no soil wear it is. Decorative gravel. Looks like an arch and the associated feet it is!

Could you get a couple of pots with soil so you can bury the ugly feet. You could decorate the pots too.

Good idea, but would probably be too tall then. I’m okay with the feet stand thing being on display I think, hopefully you’ll only be looking at the twinkling lights and top parts anyway 🤞

@londonmummy1966 oh that is a dangerous website to visit! Luckily everything I’ve fancied so far is out of stock!
