What are you putting in your Christmas crackers?

Got some cheap Christmas crackers from Sainsburys and don't like the prizes in them so am looking to put my own gifts in them. Don't know what though? Scratch card? It's for adults, male and female. TIA for any suggestions.

Last year we had RSPB pin badges they were £1 each although suggested donation has gone up to £2 now. But went down very well and everyone wore them

I like the idea of charity badges, especially if if relevance to the recipient.

Trolley coins, again can be bought from charity shops or relating to hobbies

This year I’ve got two personalised key rings, a leather bracelet (teenage boy) not sure about the other two. I’ll also add a scratch card and a Lindt chocolate.
Previous years
Personalised bottle opener
Nail varnish
Lip balm
Mini shower gel
Hand cream
Flower seeds
Earrings
Alcohol miniatures
Essential oil roller ball
Key caps

That's a great idea to take out the tat and add your own things! I might get some of those Lindt reindeers.

I have refillable crackers. They have a slot for the banger part! I usually put in a Ferraro Rocher and a scratch card and find my own terrible jokes.

Junobug · 16/11/2023 07:16

I've done scratch cards, nail varnish, mini perfumes/aftershave, one of those multi tool things that fit in a wallet, miniture liqueurs or spirits, jewellery.
I think I'm going to try and put an airtag in dh's this year.

I buy the 'make your own' packs from The Works

Travelcrazy · 16/11/2023 07:57

@YorkieTheRabbit how do you open them, put the things in and then close them back up?

YorkieTheRabbit · 16/11/2023 09:12

@Travelcrazy I buy the make your own cracker kits, but on normal crackers, you should be able to undo the ribbon tied at one end, swap the contents then re tie.

Bracelets this year

Openmouthinsertfood · 16/11/2023 13:04

Thank you all so much for your suggestions! Got a few good things to go on now. And yes, @Travelcrazy, I'm planning on doing what @YorkieTheRabbit posted and just opening one end pop the gift in, and resealing.

Scratch cards
Lindt chocolate teddy
This year I also bought a pack of stick-on moustaches from Flying Tiger, so everyone will get a different moustache in their cracker too

Openmouthinsertfood · 18/11/2023 05:32

In the end I've gone for some miniature jams and honey from Tiptree, and I found a seller on Etsy that sells cracker fillers and will send you an unknown selection of items from a list.

I went to boots and got perfume and after shave samples last year. It was a big hit
