What would you consider nice chocolates to give as gifts that most people like?

What would you love to receive?

I'm thinking Hotel Chocolat, Lindt, Ferraro Rocher and less Quality Streets or Miniature Heroes.

@VanillaImpulse I don't love Lindor balls but I do like Lindt chocolate

@brogan1972 I was recently gifted some See's candies! They were ok!

@mantlepiece

I do love the C&W champagne truffles. last year Costco did boxes of them something like 2 boxes for £10! Not standard packaging but not sure if the recipe was the same.
I will have to try the violet cream
and also the pistachio ones are on my list.

@TotteringByRosie I love Ferraro Rocher

@Hotchocolatemousse i didn't know Mars had thought them. I hope they don't change the recipes!

Lindor, Black Magic or Hotel Chocolate

Gowlett · 16/11/2023 17:37

Will get some HC for Christmas, before anything changes… The Pink Champagne ones are very nice!

HolidayHolllie · 18/11/2023 09:00

You've reminded me about the champagne truffles which I think are cheaper than the C&W ones but still nice!

I got those last year.

I may need a trip to Costco.

I've never understood the love for Lindt chocolates as they're too sweet for me. I love BoojaBooja and Audrey's chocolates.

The chocolate tool set, no doubt.

Jingleballs2 · 22/11/2024 00:00

Not a fan of lindt and montezumas are 🤢

Hotel chocolate are fine but not worth the money to me really.

I'm happy with a box of milk tray or something from m&s 😋

MinnieMouse200 · 22/11/2024 00:02

Would much prefer a tin of quality streets, bar of cadburys or a chocolate orange 😂

MinnieMouse200 · 22/11/2024 00:12

Godiva

BibbityBobbityToo · 22/11/2024 00:14

I wouldn't thank you for any posh chocolate, it would end up in the staff room at DH's work.

Big tub of Haribo's or Squashies for me!

R41nb0wR0se · 22/11/2024 00:20

I'll preface my recommendation by saying I find most chocolate too sweet, and I don't especially like filled chocolate. Also it's pricey.
But if you like seriously aromatic dark chocolate, try Willie's Cacao.
I have only ever bought it for one other person, who I know shares my chocolate taste. They adored it.

Ursulla · 22/11/2024 00:24

That massive Ferraro rocher thing, the giant nutty ball.

M&S flakey truffles

And my local chocolate maker shop, which is v pricey but amazing

ChequerboardCharlie · 22/11/2024 06:32

Bars of zotter- you can get them on Amazon. They have amazing flavours and are delicious

tattiescone10 · 22/11/2024 08:42

Hotel chocolat or Lily obriens fruity mix!

Cookerhood · 22/11/2024 08:44

I don't get the hotel Chocolat love at all. It just tastes waxy to me.
Lindor for me, please, if a little sweet.

Cookerhood · 22/11/2024 08:47

Now if mumsnet hadn't done the stupid thing of hiding older replies I would have realised that this was a zombie thread 😡

Hotel Chocolat
Leonidas

If I could choose the best - Paul A Young

Are the M&S Chocolate Pinecones good?
I’ve missed them every year! But I want them…

The small salted caramel pine cones are very sweet and sickly - not enough chocolate. If you'd asked about their dessert pine cones - now you're talking! If you can get them reduced later they also freeze well (if you have any over 😉)

Grrrr. How irritating. Perhaps we need a 2024 one?

Gowlett · 22/11/2024 08:59

No, I’m glad! I’ll getting the dessert ones! Thanks x

Shinyandnew1 · 22/11/2024 09:03

I don’t like truffles or praline, so would rather have a box of After Eights?

ShortColdandGrey · 22/11/2024 09:12

Leonidas are the favourite in my house. I bought my parents a wee box as part of their Christmas last year, and they have asked for a box each for Christmas. They loved sitting by the fire and having some chocolates before bed.

ShortColdandGrey · 22/11/2024 09:14

I also love monty bojangles truffles.
