Who only really listens to classic FM in December for the Christmas carols

I do put classic FM on when I need the kids to listen because it is calming, but during December it seems to add that feeling of spiritual contemplation. Basically I think it's church choirs at their finest which is not surprising.

I switch off Classic FM during December and decamp to Radio 3 because of the carols. By Christmas it's reached saturation point and carries on until NY. FGS, we KNOW it's Christmas, give us a break!

Oh really I don't listen to it full time, I prefer 6music.

I quite like choir carols and think December is the right month for them.

Whilst we are not religious, we are not commercial either. But can get into a spirit of Christmas.

I guess I am just feeling christmassey this year, last year I would have preferred to throw toast at everyone and go back to bed with a Bailey's

I listen during 'Christmas prep' which is normally a couple of hours on Christmas Eve (if I can get
everyone else to stop mithering me) and then Christmas morning. Really like it Christmas morning (again, if I can stop everyone 'popping in to help'... - my kitchen is tiny so I really do not like the company)

I didnt know there were carols on classic FM, I will seek this out, love carols

Are they proper carols, like sung in a church?

I love listening to Classic fm at Christmas time. I look forward to it every year.

I listen to classic FM all year round. We have it on most evenings, as I find it keeps my kids quite calm in the run up to dinner time!

The problem with Classic FM is the possibility of running into Alexander Armstrong!

I LOVE Classic FM at Christmas. I love the way they twiddle their indent music to make it sound Christmassy.

I credit Classic FM for introducing me to my most favourite Christmas carol ever. The Shepherd's Farewell. Just beautiful.

RainBow725 · 01/12/2023 23:41

@LyndaSnellsSniff that's my favourite too. And I can't even vote for it on their poll - it's not on the list!
