Hi all

We are looking forward to our first Christmas in our new house. Having upsized from a tiny flat, we’re very much lacking in festive deccies! Where is the best place to stock up on the ‘basics’? I’ll need a lot of lights, couple of garlands and a bunch of ‘standard’ baubles which I can add more special ones too as money allows.

im particularly flummoxed on outdoor lights. Do any seem to fare better than others?

thanks for assisting this enthusiastic amateur!

On the Christmas pouncetastix thread it was suggested the range has a good selection of Christmas bits

I got 30 baubles from matalan for £10 the other day

Do you have any local garden centres? There are a good shout for lovely xmas decorations

B&Q, The Range, B&M, Matalan all do sets of baubles that are pretty and reasonably priced.

Wilkinson's was always my go-to for lights and I think they're still in business (online only).

Also, Argos could be a good place to look.

Alternatively, if you have a supermarket superstore near you, you may have some luck. We have a giant Sainsburys in the next town over and their Christmas selection would mean you could get everything you needed in one place.
