No alcohol, no chocolate - and I don't like mince pies much

My daughter, who's hosting Christmas for the family this year, has just asked me what I'd like to have as treats and snacks whilst over at hers for a few days over Christmas.

Menopause has made me intolerant to alcohol and chocolate, and I'm not a huge fan of pastry, so the mince pie variations aren't goers either. What alternatives, that aren't plain fruit, can I suggest she has in for me?

I suppose there's cheese, but I want to have some sweet stuff!

Marzipan truffles rolled in chopped hazelnuts or ground almonds.

Candied almonds or other nuts

Sainsburis do LUSH caramel covered almonds.

I get sick of chocolate at Christmas. I prefer Turkish delight as a sweet treat and the best bit about Christmas for me is cheese and pate.

Marron Glacé

I have the same problem as you.
The more expensive marron glacé come beautifully wrapped and feel like a real treat.

I enjoy them with some Christmas blend, freshly ground coffee.

I haven’t found anything else that comes close to replacing chocolate and alcohol though!
