What is on your (busy working mum) Christmas list?

So I am a working mum of 2 DC (7year old DD and a 5 month old DD)
Family have started asking what I want for Xmas and I am struggling. The things I enjoy (like jigsaw puzzles, or reading books) I have absolutely no time or space to do them and a mountain waiting to be done/read. I don't like diffusers/wax melts any of that stuff. I just seem to have so little time to indulge in myself that any sort of self care stuff seems pointless. I am a jeans and hoody girl so clothes are a non starter. I hate gardening, cook because I have to and hate any sort of trinkets or ornaments.
So I was hoping for some inspiration from fellow mums on here, what are you asking for?
The only thing I did think of was a smart(ish) watch. Found one in a sale for under £30 so asked DH for that.
I am skint and fed up eating chicken, mince or veggie meals every day for months on end but it is weird to ask for a steak or rack of lamb for xmas isn't it?!

On my list is an air fryer, perfume, diary, slippers and skincare. Nothing exciting but things would be useful/nice to have.

My small list would include:
Jar local honey
locctaine bar Shea soap
small Jo malone candle
Thermos jug ( keep hot cider/ mulled wine warm this winter)

Last year
Merino wool mittens - they have been a game changer taking child out in pram on freezing days. Lovely

I've actually been keeping myself a list this year (like I normally do for the kids!). So far I have nytimes games subscription, A5 rocketbook and restock of pens, bone conducting earphones, bottle of port, cashmere bed socks, an oodie. The steak comment reminded me, I was bought a Serrano ham one year and it was a truly excellent present (which is now back on my list!)

I’ve asked DH to book me a massage and sort the kids that day on the run up to Christmas.

I bought myself turtle dove gloves and love them. I want a new winter hat as my old one has been on the go for years. I also want a new big heavy fleece but would pick it myself .

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 11/11/2023 14:49

I’ve asked for vouchers/money for home renovations, a new toaster, some pens I need for work, buggy storage, new cushion covers and a rug.

I really don’t want loads of stuff I have to find homes for when DH and I are trying to get rid of stuff.

An air tag
Hand cream
Sweaty Betty leggings
Scented candles
Those big bars of soap from t k maxx
Sentia - that non-alcoholic spirit - I love that

Can you ask for some Cook meals (the fancy ready meals) or some babysitting vouchers (ie offers from family to look after your kids so you can have a break)?
Donald Russell do some fancy (expensive) meat selections if you're set on steak. I'm sure I've bought my Dad a gift of meat in the past (my Mum is a veggie).

Cupcakekiller · 11/11/2023 15:21

I love wine, chocolate and other junk food so just tell people to buy me variations of those. I'm east to buy for 🤣

LizHoney · 11/11/2023 15:21

Ask for John Lewis vouchers then spend them in Waitrose on treat meat!

D20 · 11/11/2023 15:47

I bought my parents a Rick Stein voucher last year and they bought a seafood pack with it. I’d be happy receiving a voucher for meat/for subscription.

On my list is some new sheepskin slippers and we’ll put it budget I’d like a gnarly old olive tree.

I'm so glad you have started this thread as I keep being asked and I am stuck!!!

mehday · 11/11/2023 20:46

My Mum once bought us a meat box from Donald Russell, it’s a good present and all comes frozen with instructions.

GinevraFanshawe · 13/11/2023 18:08

Definitely ask for meat if that’s what you want!

TheChosenTwo · 13/11/2023 18:16

How many people are asking you?
We have pretty much stopped the majority of family adults buying for each other as it became so transactional, asking what we all wanted rather than thinking of it ourselves. I hated being asked what unwanted!

Anyway, you could ask for vouchers for wherever you buy your shopping, that way you could get whatever food you want to eat and it’s less weird than asking for a steak!

TheHappiestChristmasTree · 13/11/2023 19:05

I always ask for a nice candle, cosy pjs, cosy bed socks, bottle of baileys..

DH often also gets me a jumper from my fave shop, jewelry, books. That sort of thing.

I just like things that make me feel comfy and relaxed at home. Also asking for running gear cos that's my big passion.

TheHappiestChristmasTree · 13/11/2023 19:06

Oh and I asked for a nice travel cup so I can take coffee with me when I'm waiting for DC at their clubs!
