What to get 14 year old?

Hi I'd love to know what you're getting your mid teens for Christmas this year?

DD has her birthday close to Christmas so it's a double whammy. She has asked for a couple of small things but the family are asking what to get her and I'm struggling! I understand why but its exhausting thinking of your own gifts let alone everyone else's too!

I'm looking to you lovely lot for inspiration please. 🙏

Similar situation here. DD got an expensiveish bottle of perfume for her birthday and some Poscas (she's got lots already but I have a piece of paper with everything written on it so I know which ones to buy).
I've got her a good quality sponge bag. And so far that's it 😅 so I'm also looking for inspiration.

We had poscas last year and they've been great actually.

I see an 'air up' water bottle is being discussed amongst her friendship group so I checked and it's £££! I mea. It's a water bottle for goodness sake

AirUp bottle is a good suggestion by PP for this age.

What about activity vouchers e.g if you have an iFly centre near you, or go karting/something else she can do with a mate.

Is she a reader? If so, she's probably the right age for Cassandra Clare's The Mortal Instruments series which are great YA books.

If she's into gaming, then a gaming chair. They could look on Not on the High Street to get her a nice but v affordable bracelet or necklace.

Or board games that you can play as a family? Ticket to Ride, Monopoly, Quacks of Quedlinburg, 221B Baker Street, Rumikub and Skyjo (card game) are all entertaining.

I hear you though when you say it's hard enough coming up with gifts so they have something to open at this age, let alone suggestions for family to buy. I'm struggling for my DS who's similar age. Bought most of the above for his birthday last month or in past year or so!

I’ve insisted on my teens writing wishlists this year - I’ve given them some price bands to cover the different requests I’ll get for ideas. It was so easy when they were small because I’d take a photo of whatever they got attached to in a shop when we wanted to leave- saved tears and I was never short of ideas. Now I’m clueless.

she had an air up bottle for her birthday and it’s been used three times. It was such a waste of money
Last Christmas the most successful present was her Airpods

My Dd is getting a Nike tech tracksuit (ridiculous money), other clothes from primark type places. Maybe a hoodrich hoodie. Make up. Vouchers to get her nails done. She sounds like a right chav!!

Thinking of getting my 14yo a Hollywood mirror for her bedroom - so if anyone has any great recommendations I'd love to know

@FiveCows i never heard of a velvetiser so just looked up. Looks quite good but expensive. Have you tried one before? Do they just make really nice texture hot chocolate?

Keep an eye out for deals - it comes down to about £60-65 for a few days between now and Christmas usually. I bought one for my DS X 2 to share last year and they love it. Say it makes even powdered hot chocolate taste creamier/more luxurious. I don't drink hot chocolate so can't comment.

Would your family be ok to club together and get something a bit more expensive? Animal experience, Young Driver lessons, tickets for a play/concert?

DD got over the last 3 years:

She is also a history nerd and we gave her a private tour of Hever Castle, tickets for several talks and signed books of her favourite topics.
