Just that. What are you buying for your boy this year? And what will you put in his stocking.

I've no idea what to get.

My DS is 5. I haven't really decided what I'm getting him yet but I imagine it'll be Lego and Hot Wheels as they're his favourites! I was thinking about getting him a bigger Lego set as his main present. Last couple of years he's had a big HW set.

Then he'll get a couple of board/card games, a few books, maybe some arts and crafts. He likes playing with his older sister's Galt Science Lab set, so possibly something like that of his own! He got the magnet one for his birthday and quite likes that.

miniegg3 · 07/11/2023 22:42

A kids Alexa (feel like I'll live to regret that)
Lego
Lankybox stuff
A bitzee
Minecraft stuff
Bath bombs
Colour changing smart bulb for his room

NameChange30 · 07/11/2023 22:52

if he doesn't have one yet, a Yoto mini. They're brilliant.

My 6yo loves Lego, that's always a win. This year he wants a Switch so we might get it although I'm not quite sure whether it's the right call. He also wants a marble run and asked for more Magformers the other day (we have a small set).

APurpleSquirrel · 07/11/2023 23:00

My DS (5) is into Pokémon mainly - so figures & cards. Probably some clothes too.
He likes the Switch so we're looking at a different Pokémon game for that.
Books
Minecraft Lego
Beanbag for his room
But one of his main (early) presents was a midsleeper cabin bed.

EcoCustard · 07/11/2023 23:24

Youngest Dc is 4.5 and presents so far:
Hot Wheels garage (the Smyth’s one).
Box of Hot Wheels cars (always complaining he doesn’t have as many as his brother & sister).
Bruder Landrover car.
small Lego set.
Spiderman stationery set & notebooks.
Where’s Spidey? book.
Gruffalo dobble game.
Selection box.
In his stocking will be:
Hot Wheel car
tube of smarties
novelty pen
Whoopee cushion
Smiggle wallet.
Colouring pens/pencils/stationary bit
sweets/chocolate Santa

Brumbies · 08/11/2023 03:40

We've bought 6 years old grandson Lego. He's a little bit of money left and he loves my hooded blankets so hoping to get him one

cheddercherry · 08/11/2023 10:22

My son (5) is ninja turtle mad and his birthday is near Xmas so he’s getting the sewer play-set and van and figures etc and a stunt scooter and a switch as the main gifts across bday and Xmas.

stocking wise he loves silly things so we’ve got a toy sun that shoots the gliders from Amazon, little sticky gecko things, hot wheel cars and slime etc

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 08/11/2023 11:23

Nephew 6 wants Minecraft Lego. He also loves dressing up marvel/dc outfits but has most of them. He is starting to get into Pokémon too. I don’t think he has a switch so games are out of the question. I’m getting him a Minecraft Lego set this year and for his birthday a buzz lightyear sword.

APurpleSquirrel · 08/11/2023 13:33

Stocking-wise:

A Pokémon woolly hat
Pack of Pokemon cards
A yo-yo

Also thinking about a mini-microscope - he has a magnifying glass which is well used.
Last year a head torch went down very well too.

notforonesecond · 08/11/2023 14:20

My 5 year old loves throwing stuff and other stuff so I’ve got him a tin can/beanbag game.

Also found pool golf in flying tiger that looks good fun.

His only request was for a telescope so I’ll get one of those too.

Worriedkittycat · 08/11/2023 14:28

5 year old DS is into space and doctor who.

So far got him a few doctor who figures, space snap, space Tattoos, a few space books, a Microscope, Volcano making kit, solar system Bath Bombs.

Sunnydays41 · 10/11/2023 10:48

DS is 5.5 and I do struggle a bit more with him than his older sister! He's really into dinosaurs, animals, building and numbers, but feel as though we have most things already!

I have got/will be getting:

Mini yoto player
Magna tiles jungle animal set
Maths cubes number blocks set
Two huge rubber dinosaurs
Hexbugs real bugs
Mini microscope and slides
Possibly Polly Pocket otter set
Possibly beanbag
Books

I think I will ask his grandparents to get him a dinosaur coding set.

Needmoresleep89 · 10/11/2023 12:41

Foam soap
Extendable back scratcher
Minecraft top trumps
Fluffy bed socks
Costa gift card (loves a cake stop!)

Will get a couple more bits plus choc coins/orange etc

Jumping on for ideas! So far, my (just) 6yr old is getting a Pokemon Oodie, a kids Alexa, Pokemon cards and probably the arcade hover shot game from Smyths (or something similar). He doesn't ask for much, likes Pokemon, Dinosaurs and Star Wars, and Sweets! My 9yr old loves his Yoto, but not sure its worth me getting another for the youngest. The oldest has a Switch, so maybe next yr I may consider getting the younger one his own console, but for now i'm holding out and they can share (they have Fire tablets).

Merrow · 06/12/2023 14:15

DS1 is 5 just after Christmas and is really into space at the moment. He's getting a Lego spaceship and a projector that shows photos of space (Santa has unfortunately not been able to accommodate his request for a real spaceship to take him to the moon!)
For smaller presents we've got him some lights to go round his bike wheels and a colour changing mug.

Gifts from other people are:
Walkie talkies
Watch
More Lego
Hot wheels monster truck tickets

He's complaining his scooter is too small so that will likely be his birthday present.

NameChange30 · 06/12/2023 14:16

"Santa has unfortunately not been able to accommodate his request for a real spaceship to take him to the moon!"

🤣

There are some good Yoto cards about space.

blabla2023 · 06/12/2023 14:28

My 6 year old bly gets tickets to see the nutcracker, abd a theatre behind the scenes tour.
Also some books and a pokemon plushy

baxterbee · 06/12/2023 23:50

5.5 yr old DS has

STEM toy with wires/lights from home bargains £12.99
Batman car
Mario wonder switch game
