surly this isn’t safe ? I’ve said no, but he thinks I’m being silly as “a slow cooker is a mini oven “.

Why can’t it be defrosted first?

YOu cannot cook anything frozen (with the odd exception like chopped onions) in a slow cooker.

It is not a min oven, it is more like a hay box.

Defrosted it could be done but you would need a huge slow cooker.

How big does he think a slow cooker is? Does he realise the size of a Turkey needed to serve 13?

Cooking it would be fine - but the logistics make it impossible.

Leave him to it. (But maybe don't eat it yourself)

It's logistically a big fat no as a turkey to feed 13 wouldn't fit in a slow cooker!

I can barely get a big chicken in my slow cooker. He is not going to get a turkey in one.

Sod cooking it in the slow cooker, how are you going to get it to fit!?

We’re talking about an Iceland Turkey which was cook from
frozen. exactly all this that you mention. It’s not even that big of a slow cooker.

i certainly inly wouldn’t be eating it that’s for sure haha

Even if you could fit it in, it would take days to cook from frozen. And soggy turkey skin. Yuk. A mad idea.

I definitely wouldn’t even with a cook from frozen Turkey - the whole point is the instructions are for an oven from frozen not a slow cooker!
If he doesn’t see sense and insists on following through with his daft plan, I’d have an alternative available and stock up on Imodium as well as rehydration sachets for the inevitable after effects on Boxing Day!!

You could buy it, present it to him still frozen and ask how he proposes to get it into the slow cooker?
