I need some ideas for an 8 year old girl and 4 year old boy. I would like to get them something up to about £20 each. I've asked for suggestions of things they might like, but the parents are very busy and not getting back to me. In the past Ive gifted craft things, books, clothes. Any suggestions of toys that would be suitable? It's difficult when I don't know what they have already. Thanks.

My eldest son is 4. Things he's interested in are Goo Jit Zu toys, construction toys (Lego, Magna tiles etc.), board games (Orchard toys have plenty of great ones).

I'm not too sure about girls tbh but maybe a cinema voucher (this would actually work for both kids).

Ideas for an 8yo girl:
Lite Brite
Aquabeads
Eatsleepdoodle pillow case
Lego dots message board
Tie dye kit

Thank you. What Lego would be best for a 4 year old? Should I be looking at Duplo? I'm aware Lego is expensive, so probably won't get much for £20.

I'll have to look up Goo Jit Zu toys, not familiar with them 😂

Really depends on what they like.

my 9yo DD has never liked Lego or many toys unlike my 11yo DD who loved Lego and most toys.

One thing that is on all 3 of my DDs lists this year is Squishmellows, my 9yo has about 6 already and wants more. Other 2 DDs have a couple but want more. They have just been collecting the McDonalds ones too.

Last year I bought most of the boys in my DDs reception class Dinosaur related gifts as birthday presents, they went down well. I find at this age most boys like dinosaurs, superhero’s or cars.

Other ideas I’ve bought boys are a book of make paper airplanes, you pull the page out and each page makes a different plane, a 4yo would need help. Where’s Wally type books, I got my DDs friend one but it was Star Wars, The Madalorian themed, my DDs love these books too, we’ve for a couple of different ones. I also bought one little boy a colour your own cushion (Dinosaur themed) and a colour your own dinosaur, I already knew he loved dinosaurs and crafts so it ticked both boxs.

Based on my nephews, a 4yo boy will probably enjoy:
Kinetic sand construction site
Hape toy tool box
Design and Drill robot
Toy bow and arrow
Orchard Toys giant road puzzle

For a 4 year old I would get lego junior!

Or just classic lego, where you can build what you want. Supermarkets often have great deals on Lego!
they often have lego dots too.
argos quite often have good deals on 2 toy deals and lego is included in this deals so I recommended checking that out!
