I have a 5 year old and she cannot for the life of her think what she wants for Christmas. It doesn't help that her birthday is pretty close to it.
I need ideas. Main gifts, filler gifts, thoughtful gifts, stocking fillers.. HELP!

Mine just wants unicorns!

Flubadubba · 31/10/2023 17:44

4 year old would like a cry baby doll with pink hair. Her list also includesa sleepy kitten toy, more Barbies, more My Little Pony Stuff, a pink monkey fingerling, a purple egg (?!), Guess Who?, a trampoline, a bouncy ball, a trampoline, more jigsaws, a donkey, and a dog.

She knows she won't be getting all of this!
Things that have been hits: squishmallows. Hungry Hippos, Pop Up Pirates, Frustration and Kerplunk have been hits on the game front. Magnetic tiles and Lego too. Baby Anabel and Polly Pocket. Glow in the dark unicorn stickers. Those craft things where you scratch the black stuff off to reveal a picture. Water painting books. Finger print painting books. Anything unicorn or horse related. Lego. Kids K'nex.

What does she like doing?

Do we have the same child?

Dgs 4 wants Miss Fritter lego (Disney Cars) Managed to source a set because it's 20 years old now so he will be delighted. Other than that his only interest is who will get coal in their stocking this year. Ds getting coal (chocolate) was the highlight of his day last year and it is discussed regularly whilst he speculates on who might get some this year.

WaitingfortheTardis · 31/10/2023 18:09

Dd is desperate for a Barbie house, or if not the either the boat or the plane. Basically if it's Barbie she will be happy! She also loves anything that is mermaid, rainbow, unicorn or dragon related.

Hibernatalie · 31/10/2023 18:16

DS5 wants Playmobil stuff - pirate ship and fire engine so far, maybe medieval castle. Also the chomp shark thing from Santa, ninjago Lego set, puzzle, drawing stuff.

DD7 - a baby doll and accessories, Barbie dream camper van, other Barbie stuff, drawing stuff, craft kit, puzzle.

Both getting onesies and hot water bottles and a new teddy and some books.

Previous hits have been Sylvanian families, more Playmobil, Lego friends, Lego Marvel. Magic tricks and prank sets. Fiddle toys.

My 5yo DD has a few things on her wishlist...
Glow art
Polly Pocket suitcase - not sure where this came from as we've never had Polly Pocket toys!
Swimmable mermaid tail

Aside from these, it's anything'Unicorn'!!

Hibernatalie · 31/10/2023 19:56

If you can get hold of a Smyths catalogue, she could have a look through that for ideas?

Babynumberthreeee · 31/10/2023 20:18

@Hibernatalie from previous experience can I highly suggest you unpack the playmobil fire engine the night before and set it all up as it comes with approximately 184637383 tiny pieces that have to be attached (unless you have an adult who can dedicate themself to it for a solid hour) whilst your 5 year old asks is it ready every 30 seconds

Starabella · 31/10/2023 23:42

My 5 year old DD is all about the squushmallows this year so is getting a large one and a pack of mini ones. An airbrush plush, a baby paws and a guinea pig little live pets are also on the list.

For her stocking, I've got her "dogimoes", Tinc highlighters and a fluffy dog notebook, a beanie boo, chocolate dogs and a couple of those mini verse food kits. Also still to get a lush bath bomb.

berrypop · 01/11/2023 00:35

My 5yo has asked for a giant Squishmallow, a Sylvanian Families funfair thing, pink binoculars and a lol bubble surprise.

She's also getting a crazy fort and a play parachute to go over it (parachute can also be used for outdoor games in summer), some craft stuff and a Lil Live Pets hamster.

She'll get a couple of gifts from wider family from my Amazon wishlist for her, which has things like Orbeez, Slime Lab, Spirograph etc. on it.

YouNeverCanTellWithBees · 01/11/2023 12:21

DD is just turned 6 and wants a mermaid tail, a Mirabel costume and a Dolores from Encanto doll. Oh and a Aristocats dressing gown.

I have got some jewellery and hair things from Claire's for her stocking. I also saw this fairy book recommended on here which I plan to get: https://amzn.eu/d/eLGrbVv

Grandchild, 3 1/2. Play dough, play dough and more play dough.

oh, and did I mention, play dough 😁

EcoCustard · 01/11/2023 19:28

Dd6 would like every Our Generation accessory, another doll, craft stuff, jigsaws, lots of books, a switch lite like her brother and a hot wheels racing game, Lego, Lego, Lego. She got a giant squishmallow for her 5th birthday, still loved and has been everywhere with her, family camps, Beaver camps, holiday. Sleeps with it every night, the best present ever.

YouCantBeSirius · 02/11/2023 08:23

My 5 year old loves cars and was fascinated by the scalextric sets in Hamleys so I've bought her one. She has also repeatedly asked for a sonic the hedgehog squishmallow so I've got her one of those as well

Footprintsinthesand · 02/11/2023 08:40

DS4 wants a "baby with a tummy". I think he means a hard bodied doll as his current one is soft bodied. When we were in the toy shop he kept lifting all the doll's dresses up, which looked dodgy but he was just checking whether they had a tummy 🤣

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 02/11/2023 08:42

polaroid camera
bedside clock
mermaid tail blanket
den building kit
scrap book/ craft stuff
