Doll for a 5-8 year old

I’m looking for recommendations as per the title. I have picked a couple of tags from the dunelm tree so don’t actually know the child. I was looking at dolls (as in baby dolls) and then suddenly thought that at age 5-8 they might not be looking for a baby type. So any recommendations for that age group please?

My DD’s are 6 & nearly 8. They love their Our Generation dolls but still very much love their baby dolls, they have baby Annabel, along with several cheaper Argos/Asda doll types. Eldest DD’s favourite is the doll that cost £7.99 at Christmas 2016 from Asda, still played with.

Argos designafriend dolls. They'll be on offer lots before Christmas. I picked up the melody one for £6 in May to donate to Dunelm Christmas appeal, It went back up to £36 so defo worth looking for an offer or check clearancesection. They are beautiful dolls, our 7yr old dgd loves the..

It is! I’ve not done it before but had seen about it online. My DH was up near there for work so I asked him to pick a couple that me and my DD could go out and pick, when he came home with the doll one I realised that I’d forgotten what to buy for young children now that mine are teens 😂
my other one is men’s toiletries (thanks DH)
I’ll go myself next time lol

but doll is done now so thank you for your help. Do you know if you can add bits to it like sweets or chocolate or do you just have to stick to what’s asked for? I’m guessing you put it in the gift bag unwrapped so they can check it’s suitable?

I've always just stuck to the label request and gift bagged it unwrapped so it can be checked over.

Georgieporgie29 · 29/10/2023 20:13

Lovely thanks, I’ll do the same

A friend's little girl has a super realistic doll. I can't remember the name but it looks and even feels like a real baby.
