I pride myself in being a good present buyer, i like to make sure it matches the person and is thoughtful.
My MIL is particularly hard especially as years have went by.
Shes in her 70s has Parkinsons, doesn't want to leave the house much.
We have bought her an alexa, a lovely electric diffuser, alexa plugs for lights, hampers etc all of which she has enjoyed.
She is into tech stuff like id say but apart from that not much else.
I could never get her clothes, jammies, dressing gowns, skincare, perfume etc as she uses the same items for the last 20 years and is extremely fussy.
