I don't know how spendy you're thinking but have you considered an instant pot/pressure cooker instead of a slow cooker. I have one that has slow cook, saute, pressure cook, baking, air frying etc all in one device.

If you have a brain fart and forget to stick the slow cooker on in the morning you can just use the pressure cook function and cook in minutes and still makes meat tender. Sometimes ill cook a pasta bake in it on pressure cook and then stick some cheese on top and air fry to melt. It's a proper one pot wonder.

I can second this, we’re without a cooker at the moment and don’t even mind, the instant pot is doing everything. If it wouldn’t leave a big hole in the kitchen I’d just get a 2nd one!

The 8l 11-in-one is £120 at Argos atm. That’s 25% cheaper than best price last year even before discount codes

Been trying for ages for the beauty box but just saying out of stock 🙁

Fam23 · 26/10/2023 21:19

@Clucket87 Could you do a “voucher” for afternoon tea in her house with her?
You can buy them online or order from certain places to collect. It’ll be lovely to spend that time with her too then.

Martinisarebetterdirty · 26/10/2023 21:20

I've been given a digital voucher to an online store and I just don't think I'm going to use it. Can anyone recommend one of those websites that buy them from you? Who gives good rates? I looked online and most wanted me to sign up before giving me a rough buy figure. Thanks!

Also are there any deals on flavour bottles (if that’s what they are called), the bottles that take cartridges to make flavoured water? Or are they a waste of money?

I think there’s 20% off on the referrals thread, I got the starter kit for £24 using one. I would say they are a waste of money but my grandson loves it. Fantastic customer service as well if there’s a problem

Babynumberthreeee · 26/10/2023 20:10

Completely off topic but how do you pressure cook a pasta bake please? I thought I knew all the instant pot hacks but you've blown my mind lol

I just chop and saute whatever veg I have lying in the fridge (usually onions, pepper, carrot) with some garlic. Then I chuck in 250g pasta, a tin of passata, then half of that tin of water, some Worcestershire sauce, balsamic vinegar, bit of basil or pesto. 4 minute pressure cook then quick release. Stir in some protein (left over chicken, ham, tuna or whatever), cover in cheese and air fry for 4 mins.

rheasmummy · 26/10/2023 22:39

@imnottoofussed thank you! Will get the tkmaxx pod you linked 😊

chocolatepudandchocolatesauce · 26/10/2023 22:40

@Martinisarebetterdirty how did you get a spin to win on new look? Nothing comes up when I go to the site and when I google "new look spin to win" it says it's a scam. I haven't tried your code though to see if it works.

MrsChristiesChristmasCake · 26/10/2023 22:46

@ThreeB Thanks very much for the tip! Got a couple of fun dynamo torches for the kids' stockings and some cycling socks for DH - all for just under £14. And free shipping too!

punchthecake · 26/10/2023 22:47

Has anyone seen a green adult dinosaur onesie online or in real shops please? My daughter wants one but the ones on eBay from China all look really cheap and not snuggly. She wants it as loungewear rather than dressing up - she’s an adult size 14.

I bought a star wars one in the big prime deal days for £26.99. I may return mine and reorder.

Thank you to whoever posted the free Birchbox. I signed up and have been checking the website to see if I could cancel yet… but the Uk website is no longer up. I’m now rather worried. Anyone succeeded in cancelling?

I ordered my free box on Saturday evening and it's still only shows as "In Progress " and has been since Saturday

Getting a bit nervous as billing for November box is Wednesday and I want to wait till it's dispatched before cancelling so keeping a close eye incase I need to just abandon

bizzey · 26/10/2023 23:28

Appologies for no linky ...

But The Bridal Beauty Co have a lovely box for £20 ( £5.00 pp ) .
