need to buy a slow cooker (we are doing practical gifts this year!) for a family of 5. Can anyone recommend a decent one. Don’t mind if it’s a bit spendy but an offer would be better obviously! 😊

Couple of posts ago I mentioned I had the 1.8l crockpot and loved it. The larger version is currently on offer with 37% off at Amazon

@Darkbutstarrynight , thank you for posting about the 4 for 2 offer at Boots today. I would not have known otherwise, but it was there, waiting in my account.

Mine only applies in-store, not online though.

Ah thank you. I was just about to post I couldn't find it! Shame as I am home with a poorly DS and doing some online shopping!

unicornwonders · 26/10/2023 13:42

@Yalz uow do you find the green stickers items? they all just say offer to me so not sure which items it is

VeruccaSalty · 26/10/2023 13:45

No particular brand in mind, but my slow cooker advice is get one you can stick on the hob to brown meat or onions first. Otherwise you have to use frying pan and defeats purpose of getting one so you can just wang things in one pot

Montanna15 · 26/10/2023 13:55

I got both these games for £2.99 each in home bargains today.

Yalz · 26/10/2023 14:02

@unicornwonders , my offer only applies in store, so you can tell by the little green box-with-a-ribbon label stuck to it. (Sorry)

Online I don’t know. This might work: search for “Christmas” and then tick the little box saying “3 for 2 on Selected Christmas Mix and Match” on the left hand side.

I 'won' one.of the £10 vouchers on my m and s app. Checked earlier this week and still.had 5 days left so was planning to go today. Logged on just now (luckily before driving all the way there) and it has gone, though the other vouchers with the same number of days on showing as 3 days left to use. So annoying. Must have made an error somehow.

Anyway got all my fruit for my Christmas cake with the morrisons voucher. Can't win them all!

Mine is still there. I'm going tomorrow. I'd raise it with them.

My Argos voucher went unused when I posted it the other day. Does somebody want to PM me if they can use £6 off £60?

Soscrewed · 26/10/2023 14:18

@NoWordForFluffy I logged in and out again twice and it was there eventually. Phew. Got a harry Potter sweatshirt for £12 instead of £22.

The shopping place was really heaving. I was surprised- clearly Christmas shopping had begun.

Amimaimia · 26/10/2023 11:45

@evtheria I had an M&S gift voucher as a new baby gift and I tell everyone it was such a fab idea - was told to buy some baby clothes, a couple of ready meals or a treat for myself whichever I needed. Ended up buying some baby bits in the sale and an Indian meal for two and felt very pleased with myself!

Maybe @MamaK19 you could add a little chocolate with it if you want to feel like more of a gift - can be something fancy (but small) or even just a chocolate lollipop/gold coins. A heartfelt card with your genuine thanks would be very gratefully received I’m sure.

Edited

S@Amimaimia @evtheria great suggestions! Thanks so much!!

Stripedfluffysocks · 26/10/2023 15:33

Thanks everyone for suggestions about the kids sweets.
I kept it simple and got loads on Poundland on 2 for £2. They’ll be delighted, I think more than the sweetcone’s which may have been seen as too babyish.
I saw those magic mixie toys in TK Maxx at the start of the week - maybe worth a look online, the toy selection was brilliant.

Slater22 · 26/10/2023 15:50

Thanks 😊 for all of the suggestions

BlackFlyChardonnay · 26/10/2023 16:29

@Montanna15 thanks - I'll definitely get my son the cheese touch game. He's currently obsessed with wimpy kid and shouts "cheese touch!" roughly every hour 🙄

6monthstillChristmas · 26/10/2023 16:34

Thank you to whoever posted the free Birchbox. I signed up and have been checking the website to see if I could cancel yet… but the Uk website is no longer up. I’m now rather worried. Anyone succeeded in cancelling?

RumItOver · 26/10/2023 16:53

I sent my DH to Lidl for the RC trains today. They scanned them at £5.99 instead of £9.99! A wee bit of a saving to boost the pot!

Montanna15 · 26/10/2023 17:14

@BlackFlyChardonnay sounds like we have the same son 😆

TheCrow · 26/10/2023 17:21

Chad Valley garage down to £10 from £40 in sainsburys yesterday

My DD loved the Cheese Touch game when she was younger, £2.99 is a great price

Blessedbethefruitz · 26/10/2023 17:32

@RumItOver Sure they're not the battery operated ones? They were 5.99 or 2 for 10. Excellent deal if not!! Although I thought they were a v good price anyway :)

Any ideas what to buy a 16 year old? She is into art, crystals and spooky stuff! Thanks

Some oracle cards eg Moonology?

rheasmummy · 26/10/2023 17:48

Has anyone seen any offers on the Neom well being pods please?
Is it better to wait a while and see what comes up Black Friday etc? I’m sure that in previous years there were good deals on the pods before Christmas but now I want one - there’s none!

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 26/10/2023 17:55

The big 850g dairy milk that causes a commotion on here is £7.50 with a clubcard in Tesco

Lovemusic82 · 26/10/2023 18:01

I have been trying to hold back on Christmas shopping this year but went to a big garden centre today and they had all there’s Christmas decorations and gifts so i am now feeling festive. Also ate my first mince pie yesterday.

Did anyone else sign up to the £1 oodie thing this morning for Black Friday? Wonder what my chance of getting a £1 oodie actually is as I can’t afford a real one, would make a great gift for a friend who lives Offgrid (and is finding it cold already).

Dd spotted some miniature dolls house sets (greenhouse, greengrocers, library) whist we were out today, they were around £45 in the garden centre, has anyone seen these cheaper elsewhere other than Temu? She’s likely to rush it and break it so I don’t want to pay full price.

Thank ps for the tip off about the diary of a wimpy kid cards, I will try and grab some from home bargains for DD’s stocking.
