Does anybody know if there is a thread for codes as I’m looking for an Argos code but don’t want to spam on here asking if there is a separate thread?

Ladies I’ve to buy sweets/chocolate/sweet treat for around 50 children.

The cost has to be under £1 each, preferably less than that - 50/75p each.

Very few packets of sweets are £1 now even in the pound shop.

I’m amazed at the cost of basic sweets, I’d really love these kids to get something decent if not a wow factor.

What are other groups doing about this type of thing this year?

I’ve just been to Sainsbury’s, no megalodons but some other bargains.
I got this teamsterz colour change car set which I know my 5 year old will love for £5 and saw a few other LOL bits which seemed really good,

Not sure if it has already been mentioned but there is 20% off kids wear at George at Asda with a few exceptions.

Any murder mystery book recommendations for dd aged 13.
And where does one go to buy a Venus fly trap?

@Borris don't know if someone else has suggested this since your post but while I'm scrolling past try Good Girl's Guide to Murder series by Holly Jackson (I think). YA murder mystery with great characters, strong female lead, aimed at exactly her age but does not talk down to them or make it easy. Really good books!

WimbyAce · 23/10/2023 10:47

Put in an order with TU yest, just a heads up blue light still works with it so an extra 10% off. They have some lovely clothes in.
Also just got an email from amazon to complete a survey for £4, hopefully legit.

I’ve spotted that you can get 2 packs of 100 Fizzers for £11.21 (5.6p each).

They are £6odd but 10% off if you buy two. There are other wrapped sweets on the same deal if you click view eligible items.

@Stripedfluffysocks if you're going to make sweet cones search for wholesale sweets online - you can buy eg 3kg of choc coins etc

Worth checking Discount dragon - for example,
Candy kittens little bags work out at £1 each
or these Little tubs too
might be a good choice as I think they’re vegan so good for allergies

might be worth checking the dates though as they’ll be discounted for a reason (though I’m sure they’re still fine, some parents/kids may object)

Snacks & Treats

Big brands. Better value.

Famousthehero · 23/10/2023 11:06

Oh I’ve just seen they are defs out of date! Maybe not then! But perhaps they will have other suitable sweets :-)

Outonaschoolnight · 23/10/2023 11:11

Gift cards are 15% off through Tesco - I usually get some £10 ones as little add ons.

Soscrewed · 23/10/2023 11:34

New Christmasasaurus book hardback £4.99 if you tick the voucher on amazon here

Irritatedmum · 23/10/2023 11:37

Just been round my Sainsbury’s with a scanner and no further reductions yet. Keeping fingers crossed for a big magic mixie.

WetWindyandWild · 23/10/2023 11:52

Entertainer has squishmallows on offer.

cymrumam · 23/10/2023 12:02

My daughter has requested very expensive hair products and the cheapest option I can find is from just my look but before I check out does anyone have any discount codes as its going against the grain to buy

No wooden toys in the Aldi I went to, but I'll be going to another Aldi tomorrow so will check there. No Megaladons or Lego either but my dad is going to a different Sainburys tomorrow near where he works and he'll have a look there (he sounded quite bemused by my requests that also included matching family pjs 😂)

Thank you for checking!

allthingsred · 23/10/2023 12:18

Have you tried so sweet shop?

You could bulk buy & put them in sweet cone bags yourself?

evtheria · 23/10/2023 12:24

CanIPutTheTreeUpYet · 23/10/2023 11:20

Chocolate Society Factory Seconds
Just had an email. Left it too late last time and they'd sold out before I could buy them. Can't vouch for them yet, I seen it posted on here by a pp.

I have used them to send choc boxes as gifts, always had recipient saying they were beautiful and delicious.

mummydoris2006 · 23/10/2023 12:31

@Cubic It all depends on the colour usually as to whether items are discounted. There is an outlet tab on the page and it will have the seasonal colours discounted. So now it will have the Spring/Summer colours in the sale, the core colours don't usually go into the sale in all honesty.
The brand does seem to very much have a cult following (my DD17 being one) and many fans like to have all the new items as soon as the come out. This means you can often pick up some really good bargains on Vinted, often brand new in the box. I'm pretty sure people just buy to take a picture then sell on to buy the next thing. I do have a small collection myself but nothing compared to my daughters!

mummydoris2006 · 23/10/2023 12:36

For all the people with teens wanting Vivienne Westwood jewellery. If you're not wanting to splash out and not sure how they'll be with expensive items i.e losing it I got some for my DN14 from Temu. I know some people don't like shopping from there which is fair enough but it cost me the grand total of £2.37 for a pearl necklace and bracelet with the VW orb emblem in cubic zirconia. It looks no different at all to the real deal when I compared it side by side. She absolutely loves it and is not bothered about saving for the real deal now.

Checkinmylist1 · 23/10/2023 12:36

Hotel Chocolat have released their Velvetiser Advent Calendar today. Love the idea but I’m a bit surprised by the price….£45 for 24 sachets……Their 10 sachet selection boxes are £14.50 so £1.45 per sachet ( the single flavour boxes are only £1.30 per sachet) Seems a bit cheeky to be charging £10 extra for a bit of cardboard 😏 Maybe it’s just me being grumpy!

CanIPutTheTreeUpYet · 23/10/2023 12:50

@evtheria oh thanks for this! I just blindly added anything that sounded interesting then checked what it was afterwards! haha. Was in two minds whether to cancel or not but I'll go ahead, be a new experience having something better than shop bought chocs ☺️

FudgeSodaPops · 23/10/2023 13:30

@cymrumam Hi, I hope you don’t mind me asking but I was wondering what shampoo they have requested and how old is your DD? I’m really struggling with ideas for my teenage niece
