This is one of the few Christmas films I haven't seen and I know it had a huge following.

Please sell it to me....is it particularly Christmassy?? It looks quite dark and gothic.

Generally, I enjoy Tim Burton live action films.

It’s a good film but I can never agree if it’s a Halloween film or a christmas film. My family love it

Hadebough · 20/10/2023 09:21

It's not massively Christmassy I'd say it's more of a Halloween film than a Christmas one.

bluebellsanddaisies23 · 20/10/2023 09:23

My DD (7) LOVES it. I was 6 when the film came out and it terrified me. Only now can I watch it and it is, to me, a very christmassy - halloweeny film! Oh, and Paranorman is also equally fantastic, if you want to give that a whirl

Excellent film, brilliant score. Well worth watching but it may be scary for little ones. Whilst it has a Christmas thread running through it, I would say it is more a Halloween film.

WidowedMum · 20/10/2023 09:26

It’s the perfect crossover film, watch it between Halloween and Christmas!

CobwebsAndCauldrons · 20/10/2023 09:33

It's more of a Halloween film but as pp says, perfect for helping move from one to the other.

StylishM · 20/10/2023 09:36

My DCs love it. It helped it not be 'scary' when I paused the TV and explained the people are essentially playdough like Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep. We've even attempted our own characters in aforementioned playdough Grin
'What's this' is a lovely Christmas number

BaconAndAvocado · 20/10/2023 09:50

No young DCs here so I think we’ll give it a go.
Thanks 💐

I feel like it is a Halloween film and the music makes me feel festive for Halloween if that makes sense. It's the perfect gateway film to actual Christmas films.

GettingStuffed · 20/10/2023 12:04

My 6 year old grandson loves it as do I. It's neither Halloween or Christmas but an in between.

Elephanttrunk · 20/10/2023 15:54

I watched it last year for the first time. Wasn’t a big fan and doubt I’d watch it again. I’m not a big fan of Tim Burton films though

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 20/10/2023 16:03

I have several Jack decorations for Hallowe’en, my favourite is a little key ring which I hang on the toilet light pull - just for Hallowe’en,not all year 🤣

My DC watched this before we went out on Hallowe’en every year but I cannot . Don’t know why , it just creeps me out

I actually prefer the Corpse Bride! Give it a go

ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS · 21/10/2023 22:03

I’ve not watched it, I’m not a big Tim Burton fan. My DDs love it, I keep saying I will give it a go but never feel like it.

MissAtomicBomb1 · 21/10/2023 22:08

If you love Tim Burton then you won't be disappointed. Also a bonus that it features the wonderful Danny Elfman

Mindovermatter247 · 21/10/2023 22:28

My favourite Christmas film… we watch it every Christmas Eve, I have done since i was 8 years old… in my eyes it will always be a Christmas movie, it’s starts as Halloween then moves to Christmas by the end.

Moro93 · 22/10/2023 04:47

I love it! It’s not to everyone’s taste though but definitely worth giving it a try.
