Toy Kitchen for a Tall Child

Can anyone please recommend a toy kitchen for a tall 4 year old?

She is tall for her age and most of them from what I have seen so far are very low.

I'd rather she isn't stopped over playing with it and for it to last as long as possible!

The old ikea kitchen had/has adjustable legs my tall six year old can easily stand at it, perfect for a four year old!

Yep the IKEA one is the best I've seen in terms of it being able to be made taller. Fun fact as well if you pick it up second hand (which is quite easy to do) then you can buy the legs to make it taller separately.

We got the Lidl version of the IKEA one a couple of years ago and it actually had more bits included. It also has the height adjustable leg extenders. Worth keeping an eye to see if it comes out as a middle aisle special again pre-Christmas because it also means you don't have to trek to an IKEA if you have a Lidl close.

I hadn't realised they had changed the colour to red but upon checking you're right and yikes it's vile!

Definitely keep an eye out for a second hand one they come up all the time and as Christmas approaches it might be worth asking on FB local pages as it's likely people will be decluttering ready for new presents.

The IKEA one is brilliant. My DD2's lasted her ages from when she was about 5 and then we sold it when she was about 10. It was still in mint condition but had been played with loads.

Loads of people seem to paint them and customise them. There are some brilliant ones on Pinterest that I've seen. I would have loved to customise DD's if I was creative/good at DIY but I'm not, so I didn't. It was still lovely though. There are great accessories that you can buy to go with it as well.

Argh! Why have they made it red?!? White was so much nicer! I didn't realise it was now red ☹️.

Definitely buy one 2nd hand - they're really sturdy so a second hand one should still be good condition if it's been looked after.

It's bloody horrid!! No clue why they felt the need to change it, the natural wooden one is perfect just the way it was.

I would absolutely look for an old style one.

WOW, the kitchen was a best seller for a reason, why ruin a fantastic product?

I hope you manage to find a second hand one, the original Ikea toy kitchen is amazing.

Just to add, if you do find one that if you look on Etsy and search for the IKEA name of it you will find hundreds of customisable options, often that come as stickers which are so easy to apply. We've got differed coloured doors, and also upgraded to leather straps handles and added a floral splashback. It's beautiful!
