Is there any chance of us being able to book anything if we wait until December?

Dp doesn’t find out what shifts he is working until 2 weeks before they happen so it is really difficult to plan/book things in advance unless he is on holiday which he was for Christmas week last year.

There’s 2 things that I’m wanting to book but one of them already has limited availability so I’m really not sure what to do but I don’t want us to end up doing nothing 🤔

For actual Christmas day?

SootspriteSearcher · 15/10/2023 19:56

We are in the same position and can't book until 3 weeks before.

I'm going to plan some things just me and the kids.

Or does he have any annual leave he could use?

NerrSnerr · 15/10/2023 21:51

Are you talking about things like visiting Father Christmas? If so I'd just book it for you and the children now or book for him as well and try and sell his ticket on it he can't make it.

BlairWaldorfOG · 15/10/2023 22:12

Oh that's tricky, if it's something you really want to do I'd book you all a ticket then if he is rota'd a shift and can't swap then you could maybe sell his ticket or take another person then arrange some other things on his off days.

No, not the actual day just activities and days out in December 🎄

It’s annoying isn’t it?? 🙈😩

He can’t choose when his holidays are 😢

@NerrSnerr @BlairWaldorfOG it’s hard because I don’t drive and the 2 things I’m wanting to book aren’t close enough to get to on a bus and I don’t think it would feel right to do big days out without him anyways 😩 I’ll have to have a look at some smaller and closer things that I can book to do with ds (probably toddler Christmas themed classes) and then hope that there’s something still available for a day out or two closer to the time 🤔🤷‍♀️

You’re unlikely to even get booked up now for most things, they have been sold out since August.

Nagado · 17/10/2023 13:06

I’d definitely book them now. If he’s off then great. If he’s working then there will always be someone in the same position as you. Advertise your booking for sale on FB; someone will snap it up.
