Decoration ideas for school office window needed

I have a desk in a primary school office with a window onto the corridor. It has a fairly standard window sill on my side.
I put a few decorations up for Autumn (small pumpkin, mini scarecrow) which the kids have enjoyed.
Any suggestions on low cost ideas to decorate it for a winter/santa theme that I could add to through December?

I would offer the teachers space to display some artwork from the children
That is what usually happens in our school, they rotate it every week.

I think it looks lovely when windows are painted in different themes. I don't know what paint you'd use (I'm not arty) but I remember being at infant school and the teachers would make the windows look like stained glass.

Could you have an elf doing various things each day?

Snowflakes would be the obvious one on the actual windows.
Maybe some of those automatic candles underneath (I mean the ones without fire, I can’t think what they are called!).

You can get pens that draw on glass so if you are artistic (or can print out images and trace them) you could draw on a Xmas scene

Or visit a pound shop and get a mini Xmas tree for the windowsill and some window cling snowflakes, battery operated lights etc.

You could get some of the kids to make snowflakes and hang them in the window at varying heights so it looks like a snowy day.

A tension rod would mean you could hang up normal Christmas decorations.

Alternatively I think paper snowflakes from white A4 look good, especially if you get them pretty intricate.

Finally, I am also a fan of origami stars:

Are you in my old office…? I was opposite the Y1 corridor used to block the bottom of the window off with an A4 piece of paper with phonics words using their sound of the week 😂. At Christmas I stuck multicoloured, battery operated fairy lights around the window frame, and used those gel cling thingies to decorate inside. I also had a little wreath for the door. The year my colleague was away for the Christmas term, I had a 4ft potted tree on her desk and the site supervisor would turn the lights on for me every morning so it looked all sparkly when I arrived 🎄.

Tension rod is a great idea!!

A Nativity scene, and add one new character a day. Jesus arrives in the manger on the last day of term, obviously!

I would use a tension rod or a piece of bamboo supported on two cup hooks either side and hang tree decorations at various heights using parcel ribbon. I'd also have fairy lights around the window frame (inside so you can plug them in).

Thanks for the ideas guys!

I have a window similar to this. I've just bought an oversized Christmas wreath to hang in it. I'll then hang a string of starry fairy lights. At the bottom I'll have a display of Christmassy ornaments to make a scene, haven't decided yet but it might be a small Xmas tree, Santa, elves & fairies or even nativity.
