In message two are the links and info from last year - if anyone has anything they'd like me to amend or add, please do tag me and I'll update.

A reminder not to post affiliate links in the thread but that MN do change amazon links shared by posters into MN affiliate links.

Please do watch the thread rather than post to mark place to make it easier for everyone to keep up and find relevant info.

Has anyone seen any of the big Magic Mixies at a reasonable price? My daughter has asked for one and the price seems to be £70.

Argos has the pink crystal ball for £50 instead of £85, amazon did drop the price to £50 last week but not back up to £65. The cauldron one is £70 everywhere although you could get £5 by signing up to Argos marketing to drop it to £65?

KTSl1964 · 12/10/2023 17:11

My nice biscuits cancelled too - I’ve been refunded.

Ticket to Ride London is at its lowest ever price of £12.99 on Amazon, according to the Camels. We have the younger version and my kids really enjoy it, so I'm looking for deals on the other ones, especially the Nordic one for the run up to Christmas.

@1stTimeMama do you know if Ticket to Ride London is standalone or do I need any of the other versions to play it?

Threeboysadogandacat · 12/10/2023 17:27

@Mumguilt23 It’s such a pain though. I’ve been caught out before. I did get an e-mail from “Ycoop” otherwise I would have forgotten to cancel too. Can you try pleading with them?

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 12/10/2023 17:28

Right, I've managed to find a way to get a decent discount of the fancy aftershave for nephew. The purfume shop currently has a 20% off any spend over £60 (was £69 for the size I wanted) then my other niece sent me a UNiDAYS code and it stacked together so it came in at £55 odd. Went via top cashback too so I'm pleased with that.
Free delivery as well.
Hope this helps someone. I used to be able to get UNiDAYS via my kids but they have finished now.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 12/10/2023 17:34

Oh and there is £3 extra bonus on TopCashback for the purfume shop today as well which was a complete coincidence- I had activated it by chance while looking for something else.

lemonsmum · 12/10/2023 17:45

Christmasmcchristmasface · 12/10/2023 17:47

@1stTimeMama its stand-alone so don’t need any of the other versions

lemonsmum · 12/10/2023 17:51

@Justhereforthechristmasthreads we have the London version it's a stand alone we enjoy playing it my dd11 usually wins.

Mrscouldron · 12/10/2023 18:11

Has anyone seen any Roald Dahl books that are illustrated? My 6 year old is moving on to longer books but likes a nice illustration on each page. Thanks in advance.

Love the prospect of a tornado of MNers all ransacking the place for Windy at once Grin

I expect to see then fighting tooth and nail for it!

Contender for thread 5 title..??

Windy Frog and the mermaid!

chocolatepudandchocolatesauce · 12/10/2023 18:59

@NaturalBlondeYeahRight I'm not sure the codes stacked as 20% of £69 is £13.90 which takes it to £55.10

Cluckycluck · 12/10/2023 19:07

@lemonsmum thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately nowhere near Wigan

SgtCatherineCawood · 12/10/2023 19:08

Does anyone have more than one Ticket To Ride? We already have Europe but wondering whether to get London as well!

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 12/10/2023 19:16

@chocolatepudandchocolatesauce ah you are right, it did it in two parts for sone reason so I just assumed. I'm happy with that discount plus the £3 cashback.

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 12/10/2023 19:18

I know the mermaid cushion was found but I was in primark in braehead Glasgow and they had all these matching items

Georgieporgie29 · 12/10/2023 19:20

@NaturalBlondeYeahRight i think they did stack but the 20% is for orders over £100, it’s 10% over £60. Looks like you definitely got a good bargain anyway.

GettingOldWithoutStyle · 12/10/2023 19:22

@GirlWithTheYellowHat oh my goodness 😀

Thelifeofawife · 12/10/2023 19:28

@Reastie New title thread “the one where Windy Frog was home for Christmas”

Thelifeofawife · 12/10/2023 19:30

Love the spirit of MN! So lovely that windy has been found, what an amazing gift for a child to have their cherished teddy return 🐸

@Mrscouldron have you tried the large colour editions? Not quite a picture on every page but they are gorgeous. This link is to a preview of the ebook but it's the same in paper here

MrsChristiesChristmasCake · 12/10/2023 19:48

Does anyone have any recommendations for a first camera for a 6 year old? Is it worth it? Will there be 100 pictures of a blur? Will I go mad with requests to print them? Grin

The Vtech kidizoom can print black and white ‘photos’ on paper, and went down to £30ish previously.

I’d already got unbranded versions like These put away, you could search ‘thermal print camera’ if you like the idea (they all print in black and white, I guess check reviews)

Not sure if you would prefer an actual starter camera - generally I think people buy the vtech ones for this age (they have some which don’t print, or one more for videos), but I’m by no means an expert

@superstar84 it’s stories like yours that make this thread so great. Just one word of warning, we had a similar predicament to yours 20 years ago. Found an identical bear but my son said it didn’t smell the same. All these years on, the bear is still called an imposter.

Hope Windy 2 is a success.
