‘Little’ (literally!) gifts for young men

My sons are 18 and 21, and they’re lucky in that they have most things they want. So I’ll be giving them money for Christmas, but in order to make it a bit more fun than notes in a gift wallet, I’ve bought 2 wooden advent calendars from The Works, and I’ll be putting various denominations of cash in different drawers…a £20 in one, a fiver in another etc. But I’d like to add some little gifts in as well, to make it more fun…the question is, what small items can I put in?! All suggestions welcome! Thanks in advance…😊

A mini Lindt reindeer, unbranded AirPod type headphones, a Lego mini figure, small torch keyring, a multi tool bank card thing

After shave sample or miniature, miniature alcohol

cheddercherry · 03/10/2023 17:54

ooh tricky! Maybe:
• mini aftershave
• gift cards if they do gaming for their consoles
• cufflinks or small jewellery
• mini hot sauces
• small toiletries like hair gels, beard balms, bath bombs (depending on if they have need!)
• miniature drinks (you can get samples of really nice Japanese whiskey etc for £3-10 a sample bottle when the actual bottle is £100+)
• a note with an experience or ticket in like “I owe you a cinema trip”

Jewellery, weird flavoured gum, penknife or multi tool type thing, miniature alcohol, traditional earphones (mine have AirPods but like the wired ones for travel or when they don't want to risk losing them) scratchcard, keyring?

coodawoodashooda · 03/10/2023 17:56

I love this idea! I'd get a personalised lego figure.

TwoBigNoisyBoys · 03/10/2023 17:58

Some great ideas there already! Thanks so much! I love the Lego and alcohol miniatures idea… and the weird sweets 😄

Those little advent drawers are hard for women and children but nearly impossible for men.

I got dh a selection of his favourite sweets one year - the blue coconut quality street (and shamefully ate the rest of the tub before Christmas) some Reese’s mini peanut butter cups before they were everywhere, Mozart Balls I got a friend to bring back from Vienna, extortionately priced tootsie rolls. They’re all quite easily available now but it was quite an effort at the time.

Condoms - always handy. Bottle opener, key fob

LauderSyme · 03/10/2023 18:08

Lindt Lindor truffles. Individually wrapped and yummy!

Hopeful16 · 03/10/2023 18:11

Chocolate coins to go with your theme.

Hopeful16 · 03/10/2023 18:12

Depending on how much you want the gifts to cost you could print and fold vouchers for things or places.

I’m not sure if this is their main present/how much you’re looking to spend on top of the money you’re giving them. But some ideas could be:

Wallet hero,.I have one to all the men a few years ago and my son was distraught when he lost his,but really happy when he found it.

My husband was very meh about his but it got him out of a pickle the other day. They're the size of a credit card.

Funny money - you know the rice paper stuff you eat? Our local OneStop or Costcutter sometimes have it in.

Bbq1 · 04/10/2023 12:52

My own ds is 18 and a guitarist so there will be a couple of picks in his, lottery ticket, £5, chocolate, Dec for the tree, gum. I've also seen some novelty stuff like games in a matchbox etc online. It's a cloth advent with tiny holes. Bigger things i put under the tree with a slip in directing him there. Few activities too. He used to love a NP breakfast but now I'll take him out for breakfast.
