How can I decorate my kitchen diner ?

The room is large with bifold doors across the whole of one wall. There is a large island in the middle, a dining table and 2 kitchen worktops along 2 walls. There is no other furniture - no side boards to put things on or window sills/ledges, only walls to hang things on.

How can I decorate this room ? We have the tree up in this room as we'll all mainly be in this room Xmas day. But that's all we have. I want more decs but at the same time I don't want to ruin the painted walls with any tape, grease marks from bluetac etc

I used to 'wrap' my kitchen cupboard doors in thick Christmas ribbon, like a present? There's examples on Pinterest!

We are quite similar although I do have a row of tall cupboards which I decorate above with lights.

I have a Christmas tree, a nice display on the island, either candles or jar (with thin string lights). Hanging star lights from my small window too. On the door I have snowflake stickers and christmas cushions on the sofa.

I saw on cox and cox cluster lights around the internal door, I'm going to do this too.

Thinking about it, lights are my theme which work well in a longish room.

My kitchen sounds similar to yours though we also have a sofa. This year I’m planning on dressing the dining table with a green runner & a light up wooden house scene. I don’t have issues with whitetac leaving any marks so I do a wall of gold discs a bit like the photo on the wall behind my dining table. I have lanterns with fairy lights around the room & lots of candles. I’ll also put snowflakes on the bifolds.

Do you have cabinets? We put mini rosemary wreaths on them secured with ribbon over the top and attached to a command hook upside down on the inside.

We also have command hooks in the corners of the walls and hang pinecone, cinnamon stick and origami star garlands from them. The hooks stay up all year. They are so far up you don't notice them if nothing is hanging from them.
