My cousin is alone over Christmas her partner is working shifts and it's her birthday. Has anyone got any experience of a hotel stay with a 4 and 8 year old 25/26/27th December. She's had a hard year and is looking for a treat.
Please advise on any mini Christmas holidays

I stayed in a hotel over Christmas and it wasn’t great. There were no housekeepers in on Christmas / Boxing Day. Breakfast was just the cold buffet so cereal/ toast. We were visiting family so just a base but it was a bit desolate. Id want to double check the hotel was going to have a Xmas vibe going on.

That's my concern
Thank you @Pleaseme

What about one of these? They seem to have loads of activities, proper activities and tonnes of stuff going on. luxuryfamilyhotels.co.uk/offer/christmas-break/

If her partner is working shifts and coming home won’t he want to spend the time he’s not working with his family? I would have thought kids of that age would much prefer to be home for 25/26 so they can open and play with new toys?

Pre children my husband and I stayed in a lovely hotel on Christmas Eve into Christmas morning. Pool was open, breakfast was amazing it was a lovely vibe. It depends where in the country she is but there are a few I can think of that would probably be lovely (although expensive).

Oh sorry just saw your follow up, wrong side of the country for me to recommend!

Centre parcs? Could eat out so not having to cook?

I’ve never been but have had a few single parent friends who have who really enjoyed it.

Knoll House hotel in Studland - fantastic for access to beach walks, indoor pool and they do make a fuss over Christmas! We were going to stay this year and now circumstances mean we won't be able to book this year, maybe next for us!
