I need to make some quick and easy crafts for a Christmas craft fare at school. I am looking for inspiration.
Obsessed with crochet right now but would love to see whats on your hook!

I’m crocheting skull bunting for Halloween atm. Last year I crocheted lots of baubles. Will find a pic!

Crochet a load of octopus tentacles in varying lengths and colours - sparkly yarn is ideal for this.

Then attach them to hair clips/slides to make fashionable hair accessories that young girls love.

I made dozens the other year for a Christmas fair and they sold out within minutes. I'd actually been wearing them around school for a couple of days previously so the children has already seen them and were so excited to buy their own.

Sorry can’t upload pic but it’s a bauble pattern by Carmen Heffernan

Does anyone have links to patterns?
@notanotherclairebear thats adorable.

notanotherclairebear · 30/09/2023 08:39

@Nonplusultra I made a polar bear following this tutorial

Octopudding on YouTube has a few different ones too, I winged the robin based on her base pattern

I haven't started yet but I've got my eye on Lau Loves Crochet patterns on Etsy- she's got lots of specifically Christmas ones but I was going to use my stash to make some of the little animals in sleeping bags for children in my extended family. I think they'd be popular at a fair (£2-£5 per pattern though, I don't know if you wanted free ones!)

What is on my hook at the moment are personalised named stockings for the immediate family children. Great pattern and fairly quick for the size, from SiennaIvyCrochet- but hard to do for a Christmas fair and end up quite big!

Star garlands are easy to make and are very popular especially as they can be combined with fairy lights.

Hair scrunches are quick and easy

You can use gold or silver yarn or red and green yarn to make them

Oh wow, this is lovely!! Thank you for the link, I will definitely do this! I'm not much of a crochet-er but this is just too cute, can't wait to try it :)

MariePaperRoses · 30/09/2023 10:19

These are lovely.

Not just for earbuds, they can hold a lip balm etc

Lots of easy Christmas bits here

raffamusadesigns.com/category/free-crochet-patterns/festivities/christmas/

And here

I'd avoid toys though as they need CE testing (as do yarns and a lot like Aldi and others made in China aren't compliant)

I am trying to finish a 12 point blanket but have been distracted by octopuses
