I'd go and I'm middle aged.

underneaththeash · 28/09/2023 17:06

It’s a bit old to do the who’s Father Christmas magic thing, but there are lots of other fun activities.
my teens would love to go again.

Nuttyroche · 28/09/2023 17:07

If younger siblings - no

if on his own with a parent… he would enjoy no doubt but absolutely not worth the expense at this age when much better and cheaper stuff for him to do around Christmas

stayathomer · 28/09/2023 17:08

a lady at the school brought her two children two years ago, one 12, one 8- she said both were blown away even though 12yo (mutters next part😉)

My dd now 13 wouldn't do anything Christmas related from age 11. Dd11 although doesn't believe in Santa still wants to do the usual stuff. Leaving treats for Santa, list, Xmas eve box.

looking4pup · 29/09/2023 08:31

So dd11 would probably be up for that age 12 but dd13 definitely wouldn't are 12.

It depends on the kid. The "Santa Magic" won't be the same as it would be for a younger child but the husky rides, reindeer sledding, tobogganing and snowmobiles would surely be fun for any age.

Fireisland · 29/09/2023 08:35

I think it would be an incredibly spoilt 12yo who wouldn't enjoy a foreign holiday as deeming it too young!

Needmorelego · 29/09/2023 08:38

I would think a 12 year old would appreciate it more than a younger child - but only if they enjoy all the Christmas "magic" and winter stuff. By enjoy I mean it doesn't mean they still have to "believe" but just love to get into the Christmas spirit.

eurochick · 29/09/2023 08:57

Probably too old for the Santa stuff but it is a cool place for a winter holiday - snow mobiles, husky sledding, tobogganing, etc. I imagine it will be cheaper if you go after Xmas.

We went and did the Santa magic stuff a couple of years ago and have talked about going back when our daughter is a teen for an active winter holiday that isn't skiing.

When my son was 12 we went to Norway to see the northern lights instead (week before Christmas) and went whale hunting arching and on a northern lights chase. You could also choose to go and see the reindeer and on snowmobiles etc, choice was yours. Had a fab time and will go back when my daughter is a similar age
