@SootspriteSearcher thank you so much. I’ll have a look at that Etsy shop. The selenite bowl sounds interesting and the book idea is great!

BetiYeti · 24/09/2023 16:43

Thank you to the posters mentioning the Cookeez Makery, I see amazon are estimating 1-2 months delivery on some of them so I’ve ordered from Smyths. Got a feeling it will be popular! Daughter will love it!

happytobemrsg · 24/09/2023 16:46

Exploding kittens is £15 when you apply the voucher on Amazon. Just bought if for my SIL

Do Dunelm ever do discount codes? Ds3 (17) is complaining of feeling cold at night. He doesn’t want an Oodie but I think he might like a teddy fleece all-in-one and bedding.

I've found these cheap at online home store which was mentioned here a couple of pages ago.
Can't do links sorry. Hope that helps.

Both of my children (currently 7 and 9 years old but have been making me jump for a few years now!) love the fart ninjas. Great little add on present.

I'm trying to decide if I should get the cookiez makery oven while its got a tenner off or stick one in my amazon basket and hold firm until black friday and see if it goes lower...

Then be annoyed if it doesnt!
Argh!

I can't understand how these work. Please help explain it to my small brain please

buttondown · 24/09/2023 17:13

Was just coming on to ask the same, can you only 'make' them once or over and over?

Stripedfluffysocks · 24/09/2023 17:25

It says on the blurb that it can be made over and over but I’m at a loss to understand how!

I think these will be popular too, it’s frustrating that Amazon is only price matching one. I can’t see where the delivery is delayed but I’ve not put my order through yet

Stripedfluffysocks · 24/09/2023 17:30

Can I pick your brains please.

I’ve a few birthdays to buy for, both boys and girls all 9 years old.

What do you think is the ‘in’ must have thing atm - I’m thinking like how all the kids wanted the Prime drink and then the Mr Beast chocolate bars. Those you-tuber people they like to watch.

I’d love to get something like that, a bit of a wow factor for them, even if it’s nasty/ridiculous/overpriced.

Ginann · 24/09/2023 17:34

I'm also debating the Cookeez although £30 still feels so much for what it is.

Have you seen the size of it?
It looks big on the pictures but irl it's not!

DD wants it and I'm not sure it will go cheaper as £30 is actually 25% off the rrp of £40.
Not many shops do 25% off this years popular toy running up to Christmas do they??

Last years Black Friday our end was no good for toys on dc's list.

MayaTheBusyBee · 24/09/2023 17:51

The cherry tree have this offer on where you get free jars i you spend at least £30. They also have some gifts sets reduced 25% and some jars at half price

Christmas bargains thread 2 - where did Reastie go
WingingIt101 · 24/09/2023 17:53

I'm going to be getting my youngest a tonie box bundle. We got one previously for my eldest and I can't remember whether Amazon prime included it on prime day or if we waited til Black Friday. Amazon and tonie as well as other sites all went to the same price from memory.

Trouble is, we actually want to give her this for her birthday.... on 12th october so need to get it in prime day rather than Black Friday which is two weeks too late.

Obviously it's not a guarantee that it'll go into prime again this year but do people know if typically the tonie box bundles go into prime day??

Thank you! Had been reading conflicting reviews, have gone ahead and ordered as she'll love it and to be honest the size not being very big is a plus for me as we have so many big bulky things already..

I just looked it up on amazon because I had no idea what it was. It says on the blurb there that the dough sachet is single use and reviews confirm that you can only make one toy. Whether they will start to sell extra dough sachets in future who knows. Some reviews say that their kids reuse the oven to heat the toy back up if they want something warm to cuddle.

buttondown · 24/09/2023 18:05

I couldn't find more online but think it would be easy enough to make a diy version.. I'm thinking dry salt dough ingredients perhaps? Possibly with some powder paint for colour.. perhaps in a nice jar with a scoop? Haven't totally figured out how it works though so perhaps it wouldn't work.. will do some research!

barms90 · 24/09/2023 18:06

I watched a video of the Teddy things....the teddy is already inside the oven. When you put the dough in the oven kind of lifts up and the Teddy is under like in a trap door.
. You can see videos on YouTube.
I mean the price is a lot cheaper than the beast maker...that looks cool but 90 quid.

That’s a bit tricky isn’t it!

i just quickly looked at the blurb but didn’t go into the details- thank you so much for doing that!

Im in two minds now really!

Its reminding me more and more of the bloody pink gotta go flamingo 🦩 for 40 quid.
It did one 💩 on Christmas morning and has sat on a shelf since. But it was a ‘big’ request that year so 🤷‍♀️

I’ve my fingers crossed you fantastic people will give me loads of ideas for nine year olds from my post above so I can not buy this

IamChipmunk · 24/09/2023 18:19

Re the cookiez makery oven. I don't think its massive (plus point!) and my dd will not be bothered about only doing the dough once, I imagine the oven will get used for all sorts afterwards!
Agree its a bit of a gimmick but I dont mind paying £30 and DD will be happy as its a specific thing from whats going to be her list! (She is 7)

Threeboysadogandacat · 24/09/2023 18:19

@msssm Thank you. Unfortunately I can’t bring myself to use the Online Home Store as they charge £8.99 to deliver to the Scottish Highlands. If I was on some wee island only reachable by plane or boat I would suck it up but it’s a straight drive up the A9. Luckily ds3 has now decided an Oodie will do so I’ve ordered one from 5PoundStuff which is where his brothers’ came from last year.

I can’t see the post now but thank you for the heads up re the Boden sale. I got crocodile hooded towelling robes for our little grandsons in New Zealand and our grandson here with 40% off and then another £20 of by taking PayPal credit. Hopefully it won’t be too difficult just to pay it but it made them a real bargain.

IamChipmunk · 24/09/2023 18:24

Suggestion for thread three title 'The one with the single use oven' 😂😆

msssm · 24/09/2023 18:27

@Threeboysadogandacat ah thanks for that. I didn't see that and I live in Moray. I would usually not order just on the principle but I've a big family of teens/tweens that love all that sort of stuff so I may just have to suck it up this time.

It's dead easy to pay PayPal credit off.

@LuckyTigress thanks for those videos, really helpful! I’m more impressed than I thought I would be!

SadlyACupOfTeaDoesNotSolveEverything · 24/09/2023 18:49

I’m glad you got a bargain @Threeboysadogandacat, I had a £10 Boden birthday voucher so replaced some basic tops for under £20 including delivery.
