Looking for recommendations of beauty advent calendars with 3 x DDs! They had the macmillan one last year which they loved but would like to find something different this year. They would love the spacenx one but at £235 it's not an option 😂

The Bodyshop?

If you still up as a consultant on their £10 mini kit offer that's on at the moment you can get 20% off each calendar on a consultant discount.

DD had twice the Body Shop one (cheapest). She was 14 and 15.

She used them all, took most of the smaller bottles for shampoo/shower gel with her on holidays/camps.
Good sizes and a decent mix of things.

Soap and glory. My DD loves them

Dd16 has liked The Body shop and ASOS in the past.

There's a huge thread on Style and Beauty ( I think it's onto thread 2 now !) looking at all the Beauty Calendars , some are completely bafflingly expensive .

Are your DDs into make-up or body products ?

I had a quick look at the SpaceNK one , there's a load of high end products in there .

You could wait till Black Friday but you risk missing a lot of them.
Are they getting a Calendar each ? Or would they share the contents ( things like shampoo and shower gel could go in the bathroom for general use )
Some of these contents ( in loads of other calendars too) are a stand alone present , not just a filler gift .

There's a load of Drawers of Doom ( DoD) in some .
And some aren't really what a teenager is looking for ( like the Holland&Barrett one(

I used to make my own for DD but it got tougher each year ! She has sensitive skin so is loathe to try too many skincare products .
She likes nail products so I get her new ones .

Last year I did a box for Dec 1st which she liked (she's 21yo) and it goes as part of her presents . Doing this again this year .

If I bought her something like Revolution, she wouldn't use half of it .

Following this closely. My dd had the Cath Kidston one last year which she liked but got quite samey. I picked it up in the Jan sales

I got my mum the M&S one last year and she loved it, she'd never had one before. It's usually a spend x amount and buy advent calendar for £30 thing but supposed to be worth about £350. It's not in the same league as spaceNK but not that far off LookFantastic comparing what I got with what my mum got. If they can get past the M&S brand on the box. It's branded mid range stuff (eg Clinique, L'Occitaine) so not 24 days of M&S.

Also second that (provided brands inside appeal) and especially if not had before, I don't actually think M and S can be beaten for value.

And I say this having had a couple of higher end calendars over recent years. The bubble of them has now burst for me so as I am a total beauty addict and suffer from embarrassing for my age FOMO I'm only getting the Marks' calendar this year

P Louise budget one?

UncomfortableSofa · 19/09/2023 22:44

The Pretty Little Thing one seems to have a lot of brands that my DD likes.

TomasG · 26/09/2023 14:31

You all need to be checking out Random Lifestyle Vlog on Youtube! They have extensively covered so many beauty advent calendars this year! reveals and unboxings!

Moonshine160 · 26/09/2023 20:06

I had the M&S one last year as a birthday gift (which is conveniently at the start of December) and loved it. Lots of different brands. Still using some of the Clinique stuff now that came with it. Great price too.

Pr1mr0se · 02/10/2023 14:42

I'd recommend not bothering with the Boots Macmillan charity beauty calendar offering this year. It's only giving £2 of it's price to the charity, you're better off buying something else and donating to the charity direct.

Good luck, there's loads of choice out there.

LadyBird1973 · 06/10/2023 09:18

I just bought DD (16) the boots 17 one. It was £30 which is as much as I want to spend on an advent calendar really.

beguilingeyes · 06/10/2023 09:40

I usually get the Looks Fantastic one for a friend for Christmas..I still think give the best bang for your buck for under £100. This year I've gone for the ASOS one for a change...similar price and value.
I might get the M&S one for myself, a bargain at £40. although Lord knows I don't need any more stuff.
