Reuseable Advent Calendar - for books

Looking to get an advent calendar into which I can wrap up different books and re-use each year, as my little one already loves books and I thought it would be a nice tradition. Bought a peppa pig one last year with small paper books in and it was her favourite thing about Christmas, but looking at it this year it seems to be a lot of the same books, so wanted to do my own which can then change with her interests.

Anyone seen anything suitable? I've seen lots of lovely re-useable boxes for trinkets and treats, but nothing big enough for books.

One of the fabric banner type ones with pockets? Or get a plain shoe organiser one and customise it yourself?

Does it need to be something that holds them all at once? Last year I got a small red Santa sack and put one book in it each night ready for my daughter to find the next day. I told her the elves delivered them when she was in bed.

I think I’m going to get some Christmas fabric fat quarters from hobbycraft and use those to wrap the books, then I’ll just stick them in some sort of box or basket, not something specifically Christmas, or maybe just put them under the tree. I gave up on the idea of a calendar because the books are such different sizes (my little one is 2.5, if yours is older this may be easier!)

Im doing the same this year and looking at just getting a wicker basket that i can put the books upright in, wrapped and the kids can pick one each night

Do you feel confident enough to sew your own ?

If not then Etsy or the fabric shoe organiser idea is quite genius.

You can buy iron on motives etc from a local haberdashery or Amazon

I did a book advent one year & did similar to this- wrapped & numbered the books & just put them in a box

@crabette what about wrapping and numbering the books and getting a nice crate that can be reused each year?

Or some kind of Christmassy fabric drawstring bags and making something to hang them on?
