Sainsburys delivery slots?

I usually shop in Tesco so have had the joys of waking up at 6am desperately trying to secure a slot the last few years, but this year I am shopping at sainsburys. I just have the midweek subscription. Is it as difficult to get sainsburys slots as Tesco? Should I upgrade to a full monthly delivery subscription?

Bear in mind that your midweek only allows delivery tues, weds or thurs (not sure if this changes at Christmas)

Christmas Eve is a Sunday so if you want for Christmas Day your latest slot would be Thursday 21st which seems too early to me

That is very true, I hadn't even thought of that. Although I don't mind paying an additional amount for a one off weekend delivery (I can still book weekend slots but have to pay extra), just not sure how plausible it would be to have access to one in the first place.

Tricky for all home delivery slots this year with Christmas Day being a Monday and many stores don't usually deliver Christmas Eve. Wonder if that will mean people don't want a slot or if will make it harder as everyone will want sat 23rd

A lot of people won't be in line to get slots with Tesco this year, anyone who has the daily delivery after 3pm option which we recently moved on from the midweek option is not eligible for early access Christmas slots. So it could be easier.

I've never had a problem with Sainsbury’s slots. I get early access as I have a delivery pass though. Always get a slot for the evening of the 23rd.

Hmm think I might upgrade for Christmas then, I wonder how early I need to upgrade, I know Tesco used to have a 6 month rule.

I'm pretty sure I signed up for Sainsbury’s quite late last year. Seems much less intense than Tesco!

Last year I started home deliveries with Sainsbury's after catching COVID, so I know I bought a pass in October and had no problems booking slots for Christmas!
