Hi all, sorry if my post gets duplicated I did one on this topic earlier but it doesn't seem to have gone through! Anyway for the first time ever I've seen a Christmas meat hamper at a butchers that I like the look of and am tempted by but I can't help but feel it's very expensive. So was going to ask you lovely people for those of you who have brought them in the past how much would you expect to pay for this one?

2Kg boneless turkey joint
1kg boneless topside beef joint
1kg boneless maple bacon joint
16 chipolatas
454g sausage and cranberry stuffing stick
454g unsmoked streaky bacon

Thanks for anyone who reads and replies

Our local butcher was about £95 for similar last year. I invisage it being £110/120 this year given the increase in other things.

Depends on area and competition but around here that would be £100-200

FrenchandSaunders · 02/09/2023 18:03

£150

Qvc do a butchers hamper, with exactly that list it's £100

TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 02/09/2023 18:08

My butcher doesn't yet have turkey on his website.

However I can price up the rest of the hamper (approximately)
Beef £15/kg
Gammon £11/kg
Stuffing £6
Bacon £6
Sausages £10/kg - I assume 16 chipolatas would weigh somewhere between 0.5kg and 1kg.

NoTeaNoShade · 02/09/2023 18:15

£130

I might buy one this year. But I would need a smaller one than OP.

Hi everyone thanks for the replies yes the one I was looking at was indeed the £100 one from QVC has anyone ever brought it and if they have did they find it better than your average supermarket joints I know I'm probably being unreasonable but it just seems so expensive but yet looked so yummy lol

I was going to say £100 so the QVC price seems reasonable! Although I’d prefer to pick up locally than get delivery.

Have you watched through the videos to see what is included ? (You do need to watch Andi Peters and Dale Franklyn but they are quite funny together Xmas Grin )

If you order it , it's on 4x EasyPay at the moment and gets delivered to you blast frozen at the end of Nov . So it;s in your freezer for you .

I know every year there are threads and news stories from people who have bought turkeys and found them to be off when they come to cook them.
My DS and the cats are the only meat eaters here so I buy a couple of chicken breasts ( Free Range with skin) and freeze them so I know I'm sorted .
That can easily cost me £6 depending on size .

(I don't work for QVC , btw_) Xmas Wink

I priced it up as separately from our local (excellent and super value) Portuguese butchers.

Theirs would be about £70. I think you could buy separately and be not far off.
