The velvetisers are 69.95 on Hotel Chocolat if you are a V.I P club member (that's free to join) and then when you order a velvetiser it gives you various options to add on drinks for a cheaper price too. Probably the cheapest way to do it. Last autumn/winter then did various money off codes when you spent so much. Should imagine they would do the same this year too

Stompythedinosaur · 04/09/2023 14:25

@nicky2512 my dc, who liked the top model books, enjoyed this

UrbanMage · 04/09/2023 14:41

If there is anyone on the fence about the velvetiser - I have one and it is used daily for making lattes. I love it.

How do you make them? Do you buy hotel chocolat sachets or something else? I love my velvetiser but only do hot chocolate in it.

B&M near me seem to be getting some bits in now.
Picked up some stuff for my crystal mad daughter. I have no idea if they do other crystal combos as this was the only one they had in the shop. I always pick up the star signs/ crystal stuff early as I always find closer to the time they never have any or have the ones I want.

Makes a good few stocking fillers. Toxic waste stuff was £1.50 I think.

Also the matchsticks have initials on the rim. I got my daughters initial but I thought the flame would be the colour of the top of the match stick…. So pink, blue and green.
They are not😂😂 It’s a normal flame 😂 not sure if I was asking too much with that but I wouldn’t of bought them at £4 if I knew it was just a normal matchstick.

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl and @Justhereforthechristmasthreads thank you both. Will have a look now.

nicky2512 · 04/09/2023 15:25

And thanks @Stompythedinosaur that looks good. That could be her Christmas present sorted too.

Oh dear, I have missed out on some bargains, DS has been ill and I've been busy looking after him Sad

@jamrolypolyandcustard it may be too late now but these plastic bath toys have been a big hit, I put them through the dishwasher to clean them Grin

@nicky2512 I think a lot of us (including me!) bought a Velvetiser via QVC, as they often have special deals/ money off vouchers/ good cashback - QVC Velvetiser offer

@Beckafett have you tried CeX for Fitbits? You can filter by price, condition etc - I usually get mine from there as the DC have a habit of managing to break mine - Fitbits

@WhyDoesItAlways I am in awe of your Christmas train!!

For anyone looking for a Contigo travel mug, the Vivacious Red and Matt Black colours seem to be cheaper than the others, for some reason!

Thank you that's a great shout.
Thanks also to whoever posted the kids printing camera thing, like many others I need to buy gifts for my kids from other relatives so that seems perfect to be from my mum and dad for my youngest

Soscrewed · 04/09/2023 16:59

This skid mark game is well reviewed a d only £6 on amazon. here

Looks like a disgusting gift for nieces and nephews- I am that awful aunt the kids love and the parents hate 🤣.

Ehunt1 · 04/09/2023 17:04

@Soscrewed 🤣my sister bought this for my kids last Christmas. Everyone thought it was hilarious and its a fun game to play.

Roughasabadgersbum · 04/09/2023 18:07

Amazon warehouse have deals on Polly pockets now and again

TryingtobePrepared · 04/09/2023 18:30

We've had a different version of that toy and it works really well, I'd def recommend

TryingtobePrepared · 04/09/2023 18:32

@Stompythedinosaur we've had one of those light up taking toys they work really well

NotAdultingToday · 04/09/2023 18:34

@Irritatedmum we did use the sachets for ours but also just put the milk in velvitised it up then poured it over coffee to make a latte i like milky coffee so really like it, had to stop doing it as i was using so much milk 😂

RainbowZebraWarrior · 04/09/2023 19:08

@Bigdoglittledog2 how much was the crystal stone set? I couldn't see a price in the photos and I've tried looking on B&M website but can't find. I'll hopefully be able to pop in after DD goes back to school on Wednesday. She's also crystal mad.

sorryiasked · 04/09/2023 19:16

A heads up for anyone that bought the cutting fruit/ veg advent from amazon.
There are no numbers on the doors!

I do the same. Have my velvetiser nearly three years and only branched out to coffees in the last year. I love the cafe latte sachets but also use it to make a quick latte in the same way (velvetise the milk and pour it over some instant coffee - nescafe espresso is decent). I also tend to add a tsp of one of those Tate and Lyle coffee syrups as I like it sweet.

The Velvetiser is far and away one of the best gifts I've received as I use it so much (also now for making babycinos for my toddler 🙄😂). Great customer service from Hotel Chocolat too. Mine was purchased via Amazon but last year the whisk went (likely from my not always cleaning it properly). Even though I was passed warranty by a full year they sent me a free replacement whisk. Then, due to the Royal mail strikes this was delayed through no fault of Hotel Chocolat so they sent me two boxes of their hot chocolate sachets (these alone were worth £27) by way of apology for the delay.

UrbanMage · 04/09/2023 19:53

@Irritatedmum I make (instant coffee) espresso in my mug and add my milk (in my case it is oat) into the velvetiser. Once it is finished doing its frothing thing, I pour the milk into the coffee.

For hot choc you can buy the sachets, but some other places actually sell the shaved chocolate too. I got some from a food festival.

WhyDoesItAlways · 04/09/2023 20:02

Just to add to the velvetiser chat, I also use mine to make iced drinks. I make hot choc as usual but with a minimal amount of milk and then top up with cold milk and a few cubes of ice. Makes a lovely milkshake on a hot day.

I agree. We bought my son one for Christmas 2 years ago and it’s used almost daily. He adores hot chocolate. Last year my stupid dog got hold of the lid and chewed it up, I emailed them to ask if they sold replacement parts and they replied saying they didn’t but were thinking of doing so but they sent me one free of charge, along with some quip about the dog. Really impressed with them.

we tend to add any old hot chocolate powder though but I will get my some some of the proper stuff for his birthday.

SpottyBumPony · 04/09/2023 20:11

We make a lot of hot chocolate without velvetiser too. DS is 5 and obsessed with hot chocolate, I buy cheapy chocolate powder from the supermarket to make his and he says it is better than any cafe. (use the 70% dark from HC for myself😁)

RoseLarkin · 04/09/2023 20:53

Does anyone have a spare Lakeland code by any chance? I'm looking at the heated throws mentioned earlier....

Sorry to be cheeky, hopefully I'll have some bargains to share soon! 🙂
