I'm just trying to to think back.

I know recently it was PS5, Gaby's Doll House, the Guinea Pig.

When my kids were young it was Furby's and Fingerlings.

When I grew up 80/90s I can only remember my dad driving around trying to find me and my siblings a Tamagotchi.

For my kids it was Pokemon and Digimon we always saved and started buying in September so as to avoid disappointment in our home .

the barbie Lila the Unicorn (was she called that in English?) about 20 years ago. Couldn't find it anywhere, and was in the back-of-beyond and decided to go to the supermarket to get a few nice snacks. And they had one - someone had put it somewhere else rather than where it should have been - i put it in my trolley and was wondering round getting things. A woman offered me EUR 200 for it! (it's in the garage somewhere and it still talks if you press the front hoof)

My mum loves to tell the story of her trawling the shops to find a Nintendo DS lite one Christmas. Apparently she finally got lucky in Argos day before Xmas eve, one had been returned but not placed out on the shelves. The nervous employee who brought it out anxiously telling her “we have one, it’s pink.. please say you have a girl…”
