Hi, never had a Degustabox advent calendar before but saw them mentioned on this board last year. Have looked at an unboxing on Youtube of last years (Just opened 8 days.) and really want one to share with a loved one this year. When I Google 'degustabox advent calendar 2023,' I get sent to this page:
ADVENT CALENDAR | Degusta Box but it doesn't let me pre-order. Does anybody whose had them before know roughly when they will be released for this year?

Roughly September via Degustabox direct on pre order , although groupon had an offer later on last year although delivery on those was really up to the wire, about 30th November from memory . Loved mine from the last two years .

Also the page you are getting when you look at the moment is last Christmas design , but they did do a pre order £5 off the last couple of years .

Ok, thank you Theraffarian, appreciate it. Xmas Smile

Groupon had a couple of offers last year. I got mine in September then they had another offer later on. I got mine for a friend's birthday in December and she absolutely loved it.

I did the groupon offer last year. To be fair the calendar is huge and the price was very reasonable but there were a lot of odd products that I wouldn’t have bought/buy again. My youngest found it hilarious.

Wondered how people have found this years ? I’m a bit disappointed tbh seems like some odd items this year in a festive advent calendar - tin of Heinz soup , jar of pickled onions , onion stock pots ? I am sure last year it was more consistent with treat items not storecupboard items. Salt and balsamic were good though

Nearlyadoctor · 18/12/2023 13:25

@mrsbyers - I agree, I bought it for Dd16 as a bit of fun and there’s certainly less ‘treat’ stuff ie chocolates, Prosecco and more store cupboard ingredients. I think she’s been a bit disappointed 😞

Theraffarian · 18/12/2023 13:53

I thought the same , I’m sure everything will get used or passed on , but we’ve literally been opening it and crossing our fingers that it’s a snack item . It’s not that much fun to just pop something in the store cupboard. I’m still hankering after last years rosemary salted nuts .

mrsbyers · 18/12/2023 13:56

I don’t think I’ll bother with it next year based on what’s been in so far - maybe this week will change my mind but unlikely

Theraffarian · 18/12/2023 13:58

We had the normal November box , and I’m thinking that was actually far better in terms of variety. Maybe next year we will get the November and December ones and just lucky dip an item out each day .

snugglyblanket · 19/12/2023 00:44

Sorry it's been disappointing this year. That was my worry after last year's gravy mayo & box of salt.

I kept last year's box and filled it myself with treats this time, even an odd book, tickets to see Santa & an advent Switch game for the DC. Surprising what fits in. We are loving it and I filled it weeks ago so even I'm surprised most days 😂

Just a suggestion for next year if you have the box from this year.

Theraffarian · 19/12/2023 05:57

And then yesterday they put two full size chocolate bars in to redeem themselves!

shearwater2 · 19/12/2023 06:02

I would be so angry to get a tin of Heinz soup, stockpots and pickled onions in a foodie advent calendar. They are taking the piss.

Nearlyadoctor · 19/12/2023 06:25

@Theraffarian - not in ours , it was kettle crisp's, dill pickle and jalapeño flavour. The previous day was horrid tasting plant based gingerbread chocolate but only one bar ( thank goodness)

Theraffarian · 19/12/2023 06:32

@Nearlyadoctor , mine was definitely not packed the same way round as others , there’s a waifs and strays advent opening thread and I had to stop reading it when I realised as it was spoiling the surprise. Still awaiting the crisps and gingerbread chocolate here then I guess . Our chocolate came with a leaflet and I think there were about 5 options , we got a salty crispy milk chocolate and a cola popping candy milk chocolate.

I don’t understand how this calendar gets hyped on Mumsnet, every single year. I bought one two years ago for my niece and it’s just regular food items you can buy at the supermarket, not a foodies heaven at all. Sounds like it hasn’t changed.
