Here's our new thread. Almost missed that it was needed!

Can somebody add the countdown again please, as I've no clue! 🤣🤣

Oh dear, typos all over the place!

DH has big meeting and DM will be keeping a food journal Blush

TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 09/10/2023 19:54

Crazy I was already in London for an event so my DH came to meet me and we had champagne at Searcy's followed by dinner at the Sky Garden. The next morning we explored Borough Market and the Glove Theatre. It was just lovely.

NoWordForFluffy · 09/10/2023 20:02

Oh, that's good news, Crazy! The little ginger shit will be continuing in his usual manner for a while, it seems! 🐕🤣🐕

We have not been having the nice weather others have. Unfair! 😭😭

Best not tell you I managed to get two loads of laundry line dried today Fluffy 🤐

NoWordForFluffy · 09/10/2023 20:40

We had two loads out. Didn't quite get dry, sadly. It's just been very grey all day. And not that warm really.

I've had a busy Christmas preparation day today. I've made a Christmas cake (one big one that gets made into 4 small ones) and I've currently got 7 Christmas puddings of various sizes on their first steaming.

I also put the finishing touches to a knitted gift that I make every year for a friend.

It's been another nice sunny day so I got two more loads washed and I ironed DS's school shirts.

Time to sit down with Brew now, I think.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 10/10/2023 19:39

Wow you have had a very Christmassy Day Bucktooth. I am well under way with the Christmas present shopping and I have my Christmas rota now and I have all the shifts I requested which makes me happy.

TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 10/10/2023 19:51

I have why 🤶🏻. I've been procrastinating a bit lately so it felt good to get on top of everything. I've also filled out my order form for my Christmas meat from the butcher so things are starting to come together.

Fantastic news that you've got the shifts you want over the festive period and well done on getting ahead with the shopping. I'll be ramping mine up at the start of next month.

I've also booked a festive torchlight walk and Carol concert with my daughters. All I need to do is persuade one of them to drive so I can have some mulled wine.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 10/10/2023 20:01

It's so much easier with looking after the parents to have Christmas Day off and work early Christmas Eve and late Boxing Day (lie in after the cooking).

I like this being organised with Christmas. Slightly scary after years of whizzing about at the last minute.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/10/2023 20:04

I;m still at the Making Lists Stage Xmas Grin

Not making a cake or a Christmas Pudding this year (it's on my list of "Things Not To Do" )
Might buy a couple of the tiny ones and if they don't get eaten they can sulk in the pantry .

I need to do a Costco shop (when I get back) , all the boring things like binbags and foil ., freezer food , clothes for DC (some decent brands there )
DD has asked for black Levis

Looking at fireworks displays now

NoWordForFluffy · 10/10/2023 21:39

I'm at the 'are we sodding moving house or not?' stage. I'm bored waiting now! #patienceisnotavirtue

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/10/2023 21:44

Wait till you get the date and you'll be Full On "How the Jeff do I get all this organised in two weeks"

Keep on with your decluttering , serenely Xmas Grin

Once I am back the Summer clothes will be put away . The Winter clothes will be out .
And DD wants her winter bedding on for Hallowe'en (her Tradition) .
We're going out on Hallowe'en Night so she can come home to fleecy bedding .

Our last two house moves were both to new builds and communication was "Not ready for ages","still not ready", "nope, no happening any time soon" then "you'll have the keys in 48 hours" 😱😱😱

NoWordForFluffy · 10/10/2023 21:57

It's the vendor's solicitors being bloody slow. We're ready, other than waiting for their responses to enquiries and agreement to changing the lease plan. Sigh. 🙄

Morning.

It is very wet here. Damp dog walk now damp trip to hospital for physio and an MRI on my neck. I hate MRI scans (claustrophobic) so wish me luck!

I placed my Morrison's order yesterday. Their buffet food is great! Booths tomorrow all the cheese!

WreckTangled · 11/10/2023 08:49

It’s grey here too. Light rain in the air.

I’m also only at the writing lists stage. I need to get dressed and do some work (I have already been to the gym and Sainsbury’s, now I’m lying on my bed).

CrazyBaubles · 11/10/2023 11:03

We were on 666 posts 😳

Very grey here too. And damp. I'm working but have put the star lights on (Christmas window lights but I've hung them on the wall behind my desk in the spare room).

Sounds like you had a lovely Christmassy day yesterday Buck Xmas Smile

Glad you got decent Christmas shifts why

Good luck today Fluffy

I think DH is out at a match after work and my dad is working late so I'll be home alone until at least 7. Going to finish work on time today, then listen to my book while cooking and cross stitching in peace.
I feel I've been non stop since last week what with dm and hospital, weekend away then MILs visit etc.
I'm also not sleeping very well so my eyes are heavy already 🙄

CrazyBaubles · 12/10/2023 18:35

74 Is everyone ok?

The men in my life are conspiring against me. DH didn't end up going to the rugby yesterday and my dad came home early. Both scuppered my planned chilled night in, and I had a little bicker with DH that annoyed me so much I didn't sleep well.

Today I've cleaned the house and been for a long, brisk walk. Hoping that combined with a stressful work day means I'll sleep tonight 🤞🏼

Christmas wise, I've made some lists and gathered some ideas.
Have 12 and 9 year old girls to buy for and have no clue where to start for them though if anyone has any ideas? Xmas Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 12/10/2023 18:42

Evening!

It's bloody freezing today. Properly crisp autumn day. Pretty, but 🥶

The MRI went OK yesterday. Better than the last as I shut my eyes before I went in, so never looked at the tube from the inside!

Shame about your evening, Crazy. How annoying. Hope the bicker wasn't too bad.

Our broker has chased our vendor today, asking them to chase their sols. Hopefully we can get some movement soon!

WreckTangled · 12/10/2023 18:51

Mild and grey here. I’ve also been eaten alive by a mosquito. Dh killed two in our room this morning but I’ve been bitten on my leg, foot, hand, hip. Ffs.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/10/2023 22:30

Rain here today and dark on the way to/from work.

But I saw a "V" formation of geese flying , not noisy ones but maybe 35+ geese .
Always cheers me up (and I hate geese !) Xmas Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/10/2023 07:37

Friday 13th ! ( I always convince myself myself it becomes null abd void after 12.00 like April Fools Day Xmas Grin )

Blowy here but not good washing weather , the female cat sauntered in with little wet pawprints on the floor .

Getting the holiday packing sorted , today will be toiletries/make-up and jewellery . Clothes /shoes can be sorted tommorrow .
It's all washed and dried , just need to sort out what to take (and what not to take )

CrazyBaubles · 13/10/2023 14:41

Weather is very changeable here. I managed a 45 minute walk with clear blue skies but it went grey and started raining within minutes of me getting home 🙄

Counting down to the end of my work day as I've lost all motivation.

Fluffy The bicker was over within the hour but I was just so irritated by it.
Hope your house move picks up speed soon.

How are your bites Wreck? If you can get one, a little clicker thing for bites can help. They really take the itch out.

When do you leave 70?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/10/2023 18:05

When do you leave 70 ?

All depends on when I can persuade Female Cat to get out of the packing cube that's on my bed .
It's not that she;s trying to stop me leaving (Female Cat doesn't like me , she'll be glad to see the back of me , and they can be spoiled by DD and DS)

Tuesday is the day Xmas Grin

WreckTangled · 13/10/2023 19:04

It’s been windy here today with rain this morning and this evening. Was quite sunny at one point.

crazy the one on my foot is so itchy! The cream I have works for a while but I have to keep reapplying.
