Here's our new thread. Almost missed that it was needed!

Can somebody add the countdown again please, as I've no clue! 🤣🤣

I wouldn't say my day has been the worst Crazy. I haven't been in the numbers this week, it has meant I can sit with others and remind myself of the job. You forget so easily. It is starting to come back to me though. I have my new laptop and phone, the phone still isn't very useful mind you as it has no sim (long boring story).

CrazyBaubles · 05/10/2023 19:00

Doesn't sound too bad why

Well I absolutely cursed myself with my post earlier. Dr is concerned about a few results of my mums and referred her to the hospital which is where we are now.
Means the work stuff will be late (100% wont be done by deadline which is tomorrow) and I'm stressed in case dm needs to stay in as I'm away this weekend.

Oh and DH and MIL have had an argument. Not massively unusual as they bicker often but it's normally forgotten within a day but this time he's really annoyed with her.

Would quite like the world to stop so I can get off now please!

Hopingforno2in2023 · 05/10/2023 19:11

Oh @CrazyBaubles i am so sorry that you are under so much stress. Will your work be understanding about the situation? I hope so! Hope your mum is home soon.

WreckTangled · 05/10/2023 19:21

Oh crazy sorry everything is so stressful for you.

I’ve got dd a private appointment I’m a couple of weeks. Needs must. It’s 100 miles away and ££££.

CrazyBaubles · 05/10/2023 19:42

Thanks Hoping - I worry sometimes when I post that someone somewhere is reading and thinking that can't be true - must be a troll 😫
Work have been amazing to be fair. Someone has worked late to do as much as they can and my boss has already gone to the people who set the deadline and told them it's going to be late and to essentially send any 💩 his way.

Wreck it's such a shame that you have to pay £££ and travel just to get some answers but I really hope the appointment helps your dd.
Does she know?

Sat in the waiting room still, listening to rubbish radio.

WreckTangled · 05/10/2023 20:23

Any idea how long you will be there? Is it looking like an all nighter? Yes she knows, I told her it’s her Christmas present 😅

CrazyBaubles · 05/10/2023 20:54

Well she's just gone to be seen by the triage nurse now so not sure where we go next. If she has to see a dr which I guess she will, we'll be here hours and hours 😫

The waiting room is like a furnace too - I'm so hot!

😂 at the Christmas present, although a proper answer would be the best thing Santa could give her really!

NoWordForFluffy · 05/10/2023 21:23

I hope your mum is seen soon, Crazy. What a nightmare. I'm glad work are being good though; that really helps.

I hope the private appointment yields results, Wreck.

I'm trying to get lots of stuff done at work. Plate-spinning, I feel!

OP posts:
CrazyBaubles · 05/10/2023 22:33

We've been triaged, seen a dr and now waiting for a scan and a bed. No indication how long this will likely take though.
I'm suddenly exhausted.

Are you an expert plate spinner Fluffy? I feel like you would be!
I hate it, I've somehow ended up with this reputation of being very organised and efficient but I feel like I waste a lot of time writing lists, running around like a headless chicken and pulling stuff together at the last minute.
In my real (outside of work) life I am well known for being scatty 😂

I have put my time here to good use though. Ordered nieces birthday presents, some Christmas presents and a treat for myself (a Christmas jigsaw) from the Works click & collect Xmas Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 05/10/2023 22:42

Goodness, Crazy. In it for the long haul. Hopefully the bed is found soon.

I do appear to succeed at plate-spinning. I find it stressful though. Plus, it's not like it's rare. It gets draining when it's constant.

At least you're being productive with your time waiting!

I've lost all motivation this week. I think a series of wet (and very, very wet on one occasion) dog walks has drained me! The weather has been atrocious this week. 😭😭

How is your mum, Crazy? And how are you?

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 06/10/2023 10:22

No rain here. Warm and sunny. Going to be 25° this weekend. It’s so dark morning and evening though.

crazy hope things are ok.

CrazyBaubles · 06/10/2023 11:32

I feel like a zombie. Was at the hospital until 1am when dm essentially kicked me out. No beds available but she was on a ward in a big chair.
She's still there - in the same place. No sign of the tests or scans she's meant to be having or any idea what the plan is. It's bloody awful and she's very very fed up.

I'm trying to work but not getting very far. I started a bit late so going to use my lunch break to have a long hot shower I think.

Luckily the hospital is close by so I can go and get her whenever she's ready (assuming she can come home today)

TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 06/10/2023 19:41

Goodness @CrazyBaubles you've had a manic couple of days. I hope your DM has some answers now and you manage to have a slightly more relaxing weekend.

Good for you getting an appointment sorted @WreckTangled although it's utterly disgraceful that the only way to get sorted quickly is to go private.

Morning!

It's the dog's first birthday today. To celebrate he dragged me at speed down a gravelly path in the woods. I was terrified of falling. Little ginger shit! 🙈🤣

It's haircut day today, then later we're off to the in-laws' as it's also FiL's birthday and Putin's!

Crazy, how's your mum?

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 07/10/2023 09:11

Happy birthday fluffydog!

I'm watching ds play football. It’s lovely and sunny but there’s a very cold sea breeze 🥶

Food shopping after and then I’ve got my covid jab.

CrazyBaubles · 07/10/2023 18:38

Happy Birthday Fluffydog 🥳 I hope he's been given something delicious for tea!

Quick check in from me. Dm is home and feeling loads better. Diagnoses of Diverticulitis so we have to do some research into her diet.

Im in London this weekend so it was rubbish timing for her to be ill but isn't it always?!

Bought dm a pick me up/Christmas present while we were here. Please don't judge but she loves harrods stuff so I picked up a 2023 Christmas decoration for her tree Xmas Smile
Their Christmas shop was rubbish though.

It's been boiling down here today. I've worn a maxi dress with no cardi and have beeb a little too warm if anything. So strange for October.

WreckTangled · 07/10/2023 18:50

That’s not a nice thing to have but at least she got some answers crazy. It’s been very warm today this way hasn’t it?! No judging from me re the bauble!

DD is just trying to have her first shower in a week, it’s a massive effort for her but she’s feeling yuck. I just brushed her very knotty hair and said I will plait it afterwards for her.

TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 07/10/2023 19:45

Your poor DD Wreck. She sounds like she's really struggling. Good job you've got her back.

That sounds like a lovely present for your DM Crazy. Enjoy London. I had a lovely weekend there with DH last month for our wedding anniversary.

Happy birthday Fluffydog

The weather is mad here. Warm enough to dry the laundry that went on the line after lunch. DH is itching to get the spring bulbs in but the summer flowers are still blooming.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/10/2023 19:57

Diverticulitis is a weird condition Crazy it affects different people different ways . I had to try the Low FODMAP diet a few years ago and found out some things that irritate my intestines ( I have diverticular disease and a couple of ulcers for good measure 'cos I;m just so lucky that way !)
Stress plays a huge part too .

Wreck your poor DD , hopefully the hair brushing wasn't too bad , it's probably not the most relaxing after all she;s been through.

Happy birthday little ginger shit Xmas Grin

I have been to Bluewater yesterday (clothes for DS and DD) , not too busy .
Then today DH and I were out and had a quick mosey about ,

I;ve ordered a couple of things for going on holiday (cruise) and I can wear them at Christmas too .

But I've decided that this year I want everything (except food) bought by end December and I'm doing 80% online . Still need to go to Real Shops or I;ll have a massive dose of FOMO .

TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 07/10/2023 19:59

Where are you cruising to 70?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/10/2023 21:21

TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 07/10/2023 19:59

Where are you cruising to 70?

Spain, Portugal, Gran Canaria and Tenerife
Some nice at sea days (aka loafing about and eating on the days I;m not sea-sick)
Might go to the gym if no-one is there to laugh at me (I cannot run on a treadmill at all)
The trips out have been booked .DH has it all planned !

I don't drink alcohol or do Spa Days but ....I have been known to belt out a Karaoke Tune

I might get some semnlence of a suntan, who knows Xmas Wink

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/10/2023 10:15

It is far from Autumn here at the moment , apart from some leaves changing colour and I saw conkers on trees (we used to keep a look out to take the DC to pick up conkers when they were little . )
People yesterday walking about in flipflops and strappy dresses . / shorts and TShirts .

I'm watching QVC at the moment , they;re doing Christmas all day today
Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 08/10/2023 12:17

Afternoon.

I've just got back from the allotment where I'm just clearing the plot now. Ready for somebody else next year! 🤣

It's gorgeous here today. Finally. We've had so much rain recently.

The little ginger shit had a slice of the cake I made for him yesterday and seemed to enjoy it! 😁 No sign of the puppy-like behaviours ceasing, however.

🎄 77🎄

It's a nice, clear, crisp, autumn day here (for now - meant to get to 23° later).

I've got a full on day at work then MIL is coming around 4:30 and staying overnight, and as luck would have it, DH has a bit meeting after work and won't be home until 6.

What did you do in London Buck? I think I must do the city wrong because although it's always ok, it's never as good/nice as I'm expecting and I don't like it as much as I do other cities.

70 I'll tell dm about the FODMAP diet. None of us really know what will help so we're all doing some research and she's going to keep a good journal so we can try and identify things that make it flare up.

When is your cruise? I'm jealous, they're great holidays!

Sorry Fluffy I'm pretty sure the dogs stay in their puppy phase until they're at least 2, and some (like all the dogs I've ever had) retain some puppy tendencies their whole lives 😂
