Here's our new thread. Almost missed that it was needed!

Can somebody add the countdown again please, as I've no clue! 🤣🤣

I had to iron my work dresses that were packed away!

HairsprayBabe · 06/09/2023 07:15

@NoWordForFluffy yes 😂it is completely embarrassing that I pushed two fully formed humans out of me but still find the concept of driving "scary" its probably my worst personality trait if I don't think I will be good at something I just refuse to try!

It is BEAUTIFULLY misty here this morning, still v warm though

CrazyBaubles · 06/09/2023 18:08

It's too hot 🥵😫 Half my house is boiling (not that ddog appears to have noticed - he keeps trying to cook himself in the conservatory).

Hairspray I've been driving for 20 years but I become a nervous, stressy mess when I go somewhere new. I still think driving is scary!

Just finished work. I had to work late as took time out to take my car to the garage (another bill 🙄).
Planning to throw some water around my remaining plants (not many), have a very easy tea from the freezer and my recently restarted cross stitch for my evening.

NoWordForFluffy · 06/09/2023 19:08

Evening!

I have the same personality, Hairspray.

We had some twatty youth decide to sit outside our house with his car engine running at 4am this morning. For a fucking hour! DH went out at just gone 5 to tell him (he was with his girlfriend) to piss off! To say I'm tired is an understatement. 😴

I worked til 6 too, Crazy. I'm back at the hospital again tomorrow (I know, I've not been for bloody ages! 🤣) for nerve conduction studies to see if my carpal tunnel has worsened. All exciting.

I'm trying not to panic, especially until things become slightly clearer at work (by the end of this week I expect), but there is a fairly reasonable chance I may need to move overseas asap (not next week but I'd need to be well settled before Christmas)! So if a headless chicken appears in the next week or 2, send a chill pill this direction...😜😱🤪 all at once

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/09/2023 21:23

Ooh Xmas Shock Biddy

How "overseas" are you talking , short trip or mega plan journey?
And what timescale do they plan for you being oversea?

Is it just you ? Or DH and DD .

I'd need more than a chill-pill , mine would be an IV drip !

NoWordForFluffy · 06/09/2023 21:49

If I was told I could move abroad on my own, I'd have packed my bag before they could finish the sentence! 🤣🤣🤣

I hour time difference, 1.5 hour flight away. Solo as dd in leaving very year (final year of secondary school - A level equivalent?).

Half of me feels like @Fluffy (pack me up yesterday) 🛫 and part of me is "eh, really, now? Me? Seriously? How will DH and dd manage? How will I manage? Oh, crud, dis sh*t just got real..."😱😜🎉😱😱😱🥺🎉😱

BiddyPop · 06/09/2023 22:00

Leaving cert

BiddyPop · 06/09/2023 22:01

Another Living Room job ticked off though - chimney sweep came tonight! 🤣

DDog decided to whine loudly for an hour at bedtime last night - DH settled her once but went straight to sleep so I was up for a good while. Forecast is for rain so I decided not to cycle to work (train instead) but none on satellite so DH trying to persuade me to change plans (which means changing clothes as well)).

HairsprayBabe · 07/09/2023 08:57

@BiddyPop that's massive! I'd be all over the place!

I hurt my back picking up DS this morning, he is absolutely massive now 😭

WreckTangled · 07/09/2023 15:07

woah Biddy that’s mad! The move and the rain - sweltering here again

CrazyBaubles · 07/09/2023 15:48

That's so fast but also so exciting Biddy! Is the move for a set period of time? I'm assuming it's work related - something you applied for or something they're asking of you?
And importantly - will you come home for Christmas or will your dd and DH come out to you?

I'd love to move abroad (to certain places) but don't ever see it happening now.

It is stupidly hot here again and ddog is really suffering. He's not himself at all and I'm quite worried given his age.
He's asleep next to me with his own fan on him so I'm hoping he perks up soon.

TheBucktoothedGirlFromLuxembourg · 07/09/2023 16:19

Goodness Biddy what an amazing opportunity but I bet your head's in a whirl.

Hot, sunny and dry here. My conscience says I should have done some laundry today but I couldn't be arsed.

BiddyPop · 07/09/2023 18:45

Head definitely spinning. I had applied but come 2nd for 1 job for 4 years - which started this month. But someone else is unexpectedly moving after 2 years there, I presume I'd also get 4 years, or at least 3.

And head of HR came into me this afternoon - I've been offered it so I've to let them know tomorrow.

BiddyPop · 07/09/2023 18:47

Won't k ow more details until next week on timings but probably go out early November and come home for Christmas. As we are due "down home" with parents this year.

Gosh how exciting @BiddyPop but so much to think about!

I can’t remember who asked but my tip for driving is to go automatic only.

Thank you all for the welcome back and the tips on decorating for autumn :) not that this week has felt very autumnal. I have ordered my Christmas planner Filofax insert though :)

I am in very early perimenopause and had my first hot flush this week which was not pleasant in already hot weather 😂

CrazyBaubles · 09/09/2023 12:13

Sad news here - we had to have our awesome ddog pts yesterday. It was the right decision at the right time but I'm so upset. Since Covid I've been WFH and he's been my office buddy, and the whole house feels weird and 'off' without him.

I'm away overnight on a pre-planned night with a friend which will hopefully be a nice distraction.

NoWordForFluffy · 09/09/2023 12:17

Oh no, Crazy. I'm so sorry. Flowers

At least you had a nice holiday with him recently and you've loads of good memories of him. ❤️

Oh I am so so sorry @CrazyBaubles. What a wonderful life you gave him.
